Car trouble, anybody have some advice?
I've been having a problem with my 2007 C230 lately.

When the temperature goes near and below freezing at night and the car is sitting outside, the next day when I go to start it, it has a really really rough start and even stalls itself and reaks of gaoline as though it was flooded.....(like an old antique carborated car) Sometimes I have to wait a couple minutes before it will start-up and the engine just turns over and stinks of gas out the muffler..... a couple times it let out a big black smoke cloud out the muffler once it started. I went in for service A a few weeks ago, and this problem happened about once or twice just before taking it in so I figured that it was just due for the service and that the servicing would "tune up" the engine and solve the problem, so I didn't mention it. I thought wrong as it is progressively getting worse.
I guess really I'll have to bring it in for servicing...... here's my questions.
How does the servicing work.. this is my first "owned from brand new" car and I'm wondering if I have to worry about any charges?? Is it all under warranty?? What if they find nothing wrong?? Also how does the loaner car work? I'm driving around everyday, and need a vehicle. does mercedes provide loaner cars at their expense or at mine??? I just want to go in there prepared and not "dumb" sounding

I'm in Toronto, Canada.... and will probably go into the Mississauga location if that helps.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Peter
but no harm in bringing it in
This happens often with intermittent or hard to define problems. You just keep taking it in until they find the problem or give you a satisfactory answer to why the problem occurs. Don't be apologetic...you didn't make the car.
Just remember that you paid for a warranty that includes free repairs and you are the customer that may return to purchase another car from them if they treat you right. I've only had to start my car at 0 F one time and it worked flawlessly without problem. The LCD display was missing some character parts until it warmed up but it does that in extreme heat as well (a generic LCD issue). Keep taking your car back until you get what you initially thought you paid for. Good Luck and Happy New Year.
I'll be heading in soon after the new year to get it serviced.
I'm thinking that I'll take a video of the problem so that I can show them exactly what happens.
Cheers!
