After my Clstyle gill peeled, chipped, flaked, etc.... I sanded, primed with BULLDOG adheision promoter and shot over all of the slats with Plastipdip (matte black look and hasn't got a speck in it since December, durablestuff) Here's a pick with the BENZstar chrome still - I've since blacked out the whole grill, looks alright with black roof too not a C class, but same concept =)

I just installed my flat badge and grill tonight.

I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Man, those screws that hold the grill in are a complete pain though.

Took me a bit to figure out where I left my 8mm socket and another little bit to get the screws back into the grill. Those OEM clips aren't easy to put screws through - though I guess that's the point, so they don't come out.

Really? I never had a problem installing mine. The hard part for me is replacing the hood release.

There are several members on here that actually do not like the CL style grill. Probably more than people that like em. But in the end, it's really all up to you. I like it for the fact that it makes my car look more sporty and it suits my rims . Also, hardly anyone in my area has it so it makes my car a little unique. I still have my original just incase I wanna go back to classic styling.

How do you like them? Every time I drive at night, I feel as though there isn't enough light being thrown on the road from the stock lamps.

Set aside for HIDs. I plugged "superwhite" H7 into my projectors and the light out put is WORSE that it was with foggy OEMs...even with fogs on. I think projectors are made to be used with HIDs....Just my .02

I love them. I seem to get a brighter output with these (halogens with projector housings), but I went from stock frosted lamps. Yours are clear, so maybe you just need to aim them properly.

Yeah, can't find anyone from ebay selling one for the w203. I guess the production of mods are starting to slow down since everyone is already targeting the w204.

I am going to start driving a black 2001 C240 soon. All I want to do to it is tint it and change to a CL style grill with flat hood badge. However I cant make my mind up. Im leaning towards a silver 4 flap cl grill from jakuo on ebay. I am also considering the all black 4 flap like in the thread somewhere. Is 4 flap the way to go?

Im trippin. Im almost sure im gonna get this 3 slat/fin grill from ebay. My model is 2001 black so will it look funny because mine doesnt have a really good paint job like the one in the picture? Mine isnt bad but its an outside car and is slightly faded. Is any color matching necessary?

Hello Everyone,
I'm torn between the silver and black grill. My car is the pewter metallic colour. Anyone have a pic of either grill on this colour car?

also thinking of going to ebay for the grill. Anyone ever buy from the seller 5th-gear? Just wondering the quality of their grill vs. some more expensive grills.
Thanks everyone for reply

westcoastloc- I wouldn't worry too much, my C is parked outside and I've applied and scraped off plasti-dip so many times for that matte black look that I'm getting it scratched everywhere, but luckily, our grills tend to just blend with the car with all the shadowing.

sexyklammy- I'd get the black one. Scroll up and check out mystery905's black grill on his pewter w203. Looks decent! I'd get the grill from 55tech on ebay, or any other very reputable seller, but from my ebay scavenging, it seems he has the widest selection with the most good sales.
