I kind of liked the chrome better but this doesn't look bad either.

5/8" 3M gloss black tape from the local auto body supply store. I used the same thing on the chrome bumper molding all the way around the car and under the windows. For small things like that, I think this is much better. It's easy to install vs. painting and it's way more durable. Thanks for the comments.

When I first got it, I was just like you and Shake, I liked it. So I gave it some time to set in, but ultimately I sealed my fate when I deleted every other piece of chrome on the car. Now that it's done, I do like the black better. I think it allows the carbon fiber to stand out more, which is why I got it to begin with.
Thanks, Erin

Something doesn't look right... I'm thinking it's the headlight rings but something just isn't sitting right with me.
Kudos for creativity though.

Yes, yes I believe so, but that's me.
It's all about personal taste and style though so if you like it then that's all that matters.

I have some mods that I absolutely love and some that I feel so so about. If I get enough questionable comments on a so so mod, then I will end up removing it, but if it's one I really like, oh well it's like you said.
Thanks, Erin

Personally I think the stock grille painted black would look better. Make sure you get the chrome sanded and paint done properly or it will chip.

If you plan on getting the CL style grille, then I would say... get that and paint it flat black. I painted mine a glossy black and it didn't right.

Is there any place to purchase a new, gloss black stock grill for a black 2006 C230SS?

you'll have to paint it yourself, or buy it from someone who has already done it
