someone should post pictures of all CL-type W203 different types of grills, so once and for all, everyone knows what the heck people are talking about. I'm not in the market for a new grill, so I don't care, but it would be nice and helpful to all those who you know are going to ask the same question over and over again !!

Someone post pics of the following CL-style W203 grills:
- ForMyMercedes.com grill
- Expressions grill
- deutschmotors.com grill
- eBay grills

I just got a call from jerry a few minutes ago. He was super cool and told me he just got hte ups notice that the Brilliant Silver CL-grills will arrive at his shop in 10 days. Im sure the silver grills will look nice too, but I decided to stay w/ the black ones because he already has it ready to ship . He doesnt charge tax to california and the shipping is actually 12 bucks. He also ensured me that the star is a 6.5" Mercedes star. Sounded good to me and should be here by Thursday. Ill put up pictures end of the week.

Yeah, a side-by-side comparison would be nice, but here's the lowdown...ForMyMercedes.com grille is the one I posted the pic of; Expressions is actually a CL grille modified to fit the W203, but the mounting points are all wrong and requires painting of the fiberglass add-on; deutschmotors.com grille looks alot like the ForMyMercedes grille, but has 5 bars instead of 4, does not come with the star mounted, and I can't speak for the quality or mounting points; there are several ebay grilles and all those I have seen are very poorly done.

Here's some pictures I've compiled. I think the ForMyMercedes.com grille looks pretty good for it's price.

Yeah, that's a good source for comparison, except that when I've seen the ebay grille installed, it looks as though there is a gap between the top of the grille and the hood of the car. I just installed my grille from formymercedes.com and was pleasantly surprised by how good it looks. The major differences from the Expression grille are that the fins are more spread apart, the star does not sit quite as high to the hood, and there is obviously no fiberglass piece that needs to be painted. The fit is flawless, the finish is stunning, and overall it makes the car look much sportier. I will take some pics as soon as it quits raining.

DO NOT BUY EBAY GRILL. Quality sucks! Its soo flimsy and wabbly......i bought it and then trashed it and bought the expressions grill. Do not waste your money!

Here is a picture of the CL expression to the 1 dimensional eBay grill. I definitely think the CL expression looks way better, not only in terms of the star, but where the star is fitted on the grille. There's a gap between the hood and the star on the dimensional grill.

I hope the formymercedes.com grill doesn't fit like that, and fits more like the CL expression.

The star definitely sits lower than the Expression, but higher than the 1-dimensional ebay grille. There is no gap between the top of the grille and the hood, though. The top slat starts right at the hood and comes down about an inch to the first chrome trim piece. The fit is great, but whether a person likes one over the other is really a matter of preference and whether or not they feel the Expression is worth more than double the price for the formymercedes grille.

I really liked the stock grille with the flat emblem, but I think the CL grille gives it a fresh, sportier look. The part I don't like about the stock grille is the chrome "border" around the edges. It would be perfect if they made it more like the C55 grille with horizontal chrome trim only.

where would i find a cl expressions grill? I need to replace my schatz grill with the larger 3d star. I have the star already. The reason being is that I need to protect my distronic sensor with the larger star.

Expressions is sold by Evosport and Performance Products as far as I know of. There might be other places too. By the way, the star on my grille from formymercedes is HUGE!

Sorry it's so dark, but the rain never let up today, so I had to shoot in the garage. I'll have some better ones when the weather gets better.

Okay guys, more comparisons. I'm in the market to buy a grille, just want to buy the right one. I think the CL Expression grille looks the nicest. It's got the fullest star. The formymercedes.com grille looks big, but its actually only 1" larger then the eBay prestige grill. It still looks 0.5" smaller on the top and bottom compared to the CL Expression grille. The question is: Is the 0.5" worth $550? Or would the formymercedes.com do for $250? What do you guys think?
