M271 2003-2005 C230 guys go to the dealer now free work/recall

I took it in for a routine oil change when I didn't have time to do it myself. They gave me my car back with little to no oil. Then when I got took it back to get refilled, I got scratching on the fenders where the surface meets the hood. I complained and got a free detail, which I NEVER cashed in.
I think this dealer is a CarMax dealer.

Great dealership but the only downside is I told them to replace my valeo radiator but they didnt because they told me it was not leaking yet even if I told them its preventive maintenance. They also gave me a black key fob instead of the chrome one as warranty replacement.
I wonder how I can make them change my bushings, MAF and center armrest before my warranty expires.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Got mine booked in for next tuesday...fingers crossed!
Amusingly, I also called them about the 'side marker' repair kit that was posted elsewhere, and rather than asking them (as I did before) if they had a part, so I could repair the broken bulb housing, i gave them the part number and they said 'yep, we have plenty of those in stock'...arg!!!

PS. is the loaner car usually 'free', last time i went you had to 'hire' it, which was a bit annoying. Just curious. Service told me the replacement hose takes about 3 hrs to do, due to having to take out the supercharger.
The morning I dropped off my car the only guy I saw drive out in a new MB was a dude that came in with a new S-Class. I also saw a lady drive out in a new C after she dropped off her CLS. The rest of the C, E, and ML class owners who were there had to go to Enterprise which was next door, and get rental cars. MB said they'd pay for a day or two, and I got a Nissan Altima.
My dealer said it is a 8 hour job to fix this hose. It took them a whole day to fix it. I dropped it off at 7:30am and didn't have it back until 10am the next day.

On wed I picked up the car (freshly hand washed) and the new key. There was no charge for anything, it was fantastic.
I would not have left there in an Altima, I would have had to have gone to another dealership to get the work done.
there's no doubt that the dealers would "reserve" mercedes loaners for those "top" customers or those who "demands" a MB loaner... if you don't ask for it, they would just put you on whatever available.

They "gave" me an '08 loaner the two times that I was in for an extended stay. The first time was when they replaced the head due to carbon build up, the vent hose and leaking cam sensor issues.
The second time was yesterday when they had to replace my alternator due to the pulley going out. They couldn't locate a pulley for it so MB ok'd an alternator replacement. I was charged $12.45 each time as a "fuel and maintence" fee. I did have to ask for a loaner and it depended on whether or not they had any "available".
I have had service done at Schumacher MB here in Phoenix also. One time I was given a loaner and the next time I was escorted over to the Enterprise counter where I was "given" a mini van.
It turned out that I was renting the van but didn't realize it until I brought it back a couple of days later when my car was ready. I wasn't misled into thinking it was free I guess I just wasn't paying attention. Lol
I would say to always ask for a loaner but there is no guarantee that they'll have one.

I did get a loaner - a stock (of course) 2007 C280 4Matic auto. Was ok to drive, definetly more power than the little 1.8, but really seemed slow off the mark to accelerate in comparrison!
I was glad to get my stick shift coupe back (cleaned and detailed too)!
Also picked up the side marker repair kit - $22. No problems. Hope to get it all installed and fixed this weekend.

Today as i took my car to the dealer, I wanted to say something to my SA but decided not to. So he did not want to give me a loaner because my car passed the factory warranty which is 50k/4years. I currently took my car last month due to the service engine light was on. My car was over 50k/less than 4 years then and he offered me a loaner. So the point is because this is a service campaign(which is free) then he can't lend me a loaner because there is no chance at all that im paying! So at that time there is a 50/50 chance that i was going to pay because if the 100k warranty didn't cover the part(it was an O2 sensor) and thats why he lends me a damn loaner!!!.The dealerships are real f*****g ********!!!
The dealerships monitor and manage these individually, not MB. Some dealers have 65-120 jobs per day coming in and out, keeping everyone in a loaner car is impossible. If you can, make arrangements to use thier shuttle, or get a lift from someone, or simply wait. Dealers are forced to scrutinize who they can and cannot give a loaner car to based on the job being done. The expense of these loaner cars alone is amazing: depreciation, maintenance, detailing, insurance, plates, gas, etc. (not to mention the a$$holes who abuse the cars) So I am just saying, we all want a loaner but sometimes we have to sacrifice for others who maybe cannot get alternate transportation arranged, and suck it up a little and eat the cookies and drink the coffee in the waiting lounge, or go look at the inventory of new/used MBs for am hour or two. Stop whining.
i got mine replaced there and the tech didnt screw it on tight enough.. surely enough. i left the stealership at 2:30pm, and was back within 30 minutes cause the hose came loose.
had to leave the car overnight and get a loaner.. pissed me off.
