dropped my car off for the hose recall and CEL came on
I dropped my car to the dealer to perform the hose recall for the M271 engine. After I picked up the car and started driving home, about 10 mins, the CEL came on for the first time since I bought the car.
I went to Autozone to check the codes and its PO410 ( Air Injection )
It could be coincidence, but what are the chances of them not installing the hoses right? Could that set of the CEL?
Would they unplug the MAF in the process of changing the hoses, etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

it was crazy. I downshifted, and nothing!I quickly pulled over to go back to the dealer. I got on the highway (in opposite direction), floored it, and the car moved as if I was pressing the gas 1/4 of the way down...I almost got rammed by a huge truck!
Went to the dealer, and what happened was that there was a clamp that wasn't secure.
They secured it and now the car is fine...
Amazing what can happen with a loose clamp...
I'm so glad it happened close to the dealer, I live an hour away from it lol.
The P0410 is apparently a common problem on these cars when they age. The Secondary Air Injection valves stick, or the relays fail.
Its not a big deal, yet does throw a CEL since that valve opening on startup helps reduce emissions by warming the catalyst.
But upon inspection at home, I found out they cracked the plastic engine cover.
Hightail it back there to insist they replace the cover they broke.

I don't know where the secondary air injection valve is on the M271.

Heir, I thought you had an M111 engine?
Or is this for the second coupe I heard you were buying?

I was thinking it could be bad gas. For those that have the M271 engine, if you could check the needle while idling in drive.
Many Thanks
Do you guys know if the stealer will fix something that is a recall more than once?
I can't keep having this happen it

I blew the head gasket in my car cause I limped it home with a rough idle. I checked the $12 hose and it looks fine, so dunno what caused the rough idle this time, yet do know it'll be an expensive repair.
I'll NEVER buy a MB again and NEVER recommend one to others. This car has been the worst POS in terms of reliability.

5 days later I had the same symptoms. CEL and poor idle. Took it back to the dealer on Monday and guess what? Carbon build up. Leaking valve. Need a new head.
CPO BABY! Thank goodness because I have 62,000 miles on it.
Can I expect a lot of problems after this fix? Or, should I be good to go?
Ever since they changed the hose for the recall, CEL has been coming on and off.
