If you take a look at the part number for the eibachs/tein they are the same number on the springs for a 230 and for a 320 4matic.
The rears springs however, are the same in every model. You can alway cut a coil on the spring, but I dont recommend it.
Call vogtland on Monday and see if they have any sets available. This is about what you will expect for a drop on the Vogtlands:

thanks. I am not looking for a huge drop. I just know the car is going to need shocks, so I am going to do the springs at the same time. maybe the sway bars too.

The vogtland springs will give you about 1.5" drop.
Good luck with the sway bars. I couldn't get my front sway bar out for the life of me. According to the Mercedes WIS program you need to lift the motor to replace the sway. But there has to be a different way to do it. If you figure it out let me know. I have an AMG sway bar sitting in my garage.

I've just got my 2nd Service A done ($350 -- yikes) and I see that they've rotated my tires. I talked to my Service Advisor and he said it's mandatory for 4matic cars. I was under the impression that with 4WD cars there is no need to rotate tires since the wear would be equal on all tires. Was I wrong with this assumption ?

Don't forget that the fronts do most of the work with 70% of the braking and 100% of the steering and between 35-50% of the traction when the power is directed to the fronts. Also remember that about 55% of the weight of the car is also on the fronts. All this means is the fronts get a good work out, the rears get off easy
For those of us with a staggered setup we can only wish we could rotate in order to wear out the tires evenly

i just align the tires myself every winter, simply turn off traction control and go into a parking lot without any potholes and make sure there is an inch or so of slush and pop it in steptronic and slide left to right, vise versa for even treated wear

, just go to Autozone and pick up yourself a jack and maybe a power tool, change it yourself.MB World Stories

I get a low pitched droning noise at around 55 mph. Goes away if I slow down to around 50 mph, very weird noise. Have new tires and they were road forced balanced... Don't feel anything through the steering wheel, very smooth just the noise.
Anyone have any ideas?

I have seen posts contradicting the 7.4 quart oil capacity as stated in my owners manual. I'm not sure if maybe I'm getting this confused with non-4Matic cars. Is 7.4 correct (while changing the filter)? This is my first oil change since buying the car used.
Thanks
Thanks

7.4 sounds about right for the 4matic.
Put in 7 quarts and then check the level throught the computer.

Hey all......Now I have two forums I need to track. C class and E55 forums......
First of all, I would like to know if there are any performance parts that anyone would recommend for this car or anyone have for sale. I love the 221 hp I have in the car. She has a little gitty up and go. Couldn't believe it this am, but a C240 exact same black color as mine and wants to race.......Needless to say, I didn't and he flew off. I will leave my racing desires with my heavily modded E55........

I'm looking for the control unit for my dis-functional after
market bluetooth control unit when it warms up here. I'm not sure where the previous owner had it installed but I am going to look in the passengers side front kick panel where I remember my other benzes had a lot of that stuff. Is there any difficulty accessing that area?
Thanks

LET Motorsports is developing a TT kit for the M112 engine. pricing is a bit over $5k, great deal compared to $10k for a Kleemann blower.Originally Posted by higginsbeach

My 2007 C280 Avantgarde 4matic is telling me I am 12 days behind my A service. The thing is it only has 9100 Kms on it. I don't think I need it yet. I was looking at the manual and the things they list to be done are really minimal.
What I want to do is clear the message with the wrench that says it needs maintenance. I have searched and tried everything that was written in these forums but they do not work on my car.
Does anybody know how to clear the maintenance message in this particular car?
Thanks.

have you had the car for a year? Service-A should be done every 13.5Kmi OR 1yr, whichever comes first.
