Toyo T1-R

great performance tire, cool design (similar to the GS-D3's), and good prices...

Yuk. IMHO, I think they suck. But they are inexpensive.
Fusion ZR1's are better, and also inexpensive.
Stick and handle better than the General's.

Questions on getting new rims...

I'm getting ready to get a new set of rims because I'm getting tired of looking at these stock 17's. I really have my eye on this set of 19's that I found on tirerack.com.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...All&sort=Brand

Sorry for the long URL, but they are the bright satin ones with machined lip that I want. What I am wondering is about the ride height on these and if it is possible to do a coil cut on the stock ride of the car. Does anyone know of any good tires that I can get on these that wouldnt be too expensive, I sorta am on a budget.

Try ET32, with an 8" width wheels. Tell them to reduce 0.5" from the back barrell of the wheels". This way you have a win2 situation - Clear the coilover (all the way down), BBK and not worry about messing your fender.

Just my .02 cents

It isn't going to stick out. I run a +32mm offset with a 5mm spacer which puts it at about 27mm and it isn't even close to sticking out or touching the fender.

My HRE 441R's were 26ET up front and they lined up perfectly with the fender.

As for tires, I think Falken provides the best bang for the buck plus has a nice rounded sidewall. I'm thinking FK452's.

Ling, the C55 front fender is a lot wider then the normal sedans. the c-coupe also has wider fender.

ET28 is just about even with the fender on the 19x8.5 for the sedan.

blakey, were those 441 u had the 8.5 or 8?

You have a C55 - CLK Fender have more room to start with.

Blake, however, did not have a C55.

If you want more examples, there are/were two other members of this forum that are running/ran BBS LM's with 5mm spacers. A C230 and C32 with the same setup as mine with no issues.

I think the offset is too high at +35ET. I wouldn't feel safe running anything higher than +32.

if you are on 18x8 then ET35 is fine with the no lip style wheels on the 18x8.5 is pushing it. lol

I never thought I'd get black rims...but these are so inexpensive (is it because they suck?). Turns out I'm in the market for some new wheels/rims. The wife comes up to me and says, "You can get anything you want for fathers day."

What do you think these would look like on pewter c230?

Hey Niki,

I think you need to get custom wheels to get perfect ET all around and that can cost you a fortune. I have Moven wheels(Reps) and the ETs aren't great , but I make it work with spacers. Originally, I have ET35 F and ET38 R. I am using 3 MM spacers on the rears due to my tires (265) rubbing against the inner wall.

Is your car 05 C230 SS with 17s?
