Hold up...

Will these fit the 02 Coupe if it's completely stock? I eventually plan on getting springs to lower it abit, but thats besides the point.

Will they fit a stock coupe?

You obviously haven't been keeping up with the thread. Fitment has not been confirmed by the vendor yet, though FrankW is throwing salt all over this thread like it's his job or something.

Well I haven't been keeping up from day 1 but I've read a good bit if not all of the posts. I saw earlier where you said that fitment hasn't been confirmed, but i was just going to re-insure my assumption by asking that, because obviously if it will fit a coupe with a BBK and lowering springs then it should fit stock coupe correct?

For now you can count me in but only with the assumption that it will fit a stock coupe. If not I will have to drop....and it will probably break my heart...quite literally...these are sick a$$ wheels and would look amazing!

You are correct in your assumption that if they fit a lowered coupe with BBK, they will certainly fit a stock coupe. The coilovers and BBK just add additional obstacles and make clearance tolerances that much tighter.

Just when I start losing my patience, another pic comes up, and I salivate all over again.

Heck, I even bought a camber kit in anticipation of also buying CO for these babies.

I'm going to try to hang in there.

Thanks for posting those Phil. I just couldn't bring myself to post pics of a non-lowered car. I can only imagine how dope those Hyper Silvers would look if the M was dropped!

the Hyper Silvers would look dope if the M was dropped, but that M needs some new mods... first they need to take off those ugly *** clear sidemarkers and replace em with colormatched ones and then remove the chrome ACS style diffuser and either put a CSL one or put on an actual exhaust as well...

they're just my bystander observation and opinion. If Velocity really want to make this work for the MB crowd you would've received the sample set already. changing the bolt pattern and center bore size is a snap. changing the design of the wheel however requires a brand new mold which cost up to $10k. I was just giving you reasons why they haven't "confirmed" the fitment, so you can ask them what is going on.

agree'd with frank. was almost about to jump on the bandwagon, but honestly, i think its hype. they would look insane on the w203/cl203, but i dont think they have a want/need to produce them for 'us'. it'd be cool, but im a bit too skeptical.

quite your biotchin bout no wheels... haha. i waited 3 1/2 months to get my wheels. and there was a good chance i wasnt going to get them. i was even told to look for a different set. all in due time guys. it will be a nice payoff if VMR goes through with it.

The reason they haven't "confirmed" the fitment is because our 20 or so orders in this group buy don't compare to the hundreds of preorders they've received from the E46 guys. They have made it blatantly clear that they don't intend to mass produce this wheel for Mercedes' so I assume we won't be seeing a test set until they have accomodated the backlog of orders for other fitments that they haven't been able to keep up with.

Jay, don't even get me started on your ugly *** wheels.

well, velocity does not own their own manufacturing facility, so they can order the fitment whenever they want from the factory. I'm am pretty sure they don't have back orders unless they run into production problems. Trust me, I know this. Dealing with molds all you need are information on offset, bolt pattern and centerbore size. Remember, they are their own distributor, so when they order it's in quantities of containers and usually each container you can fill it up with around 1000 pcs with the large container. That's 250 sets of wheels. Of course they have other wheels in the container, so if you give or take they still have around 100 set if they are to cover the cost of material and shipment.

realistically like I said earlier and even you mentioned it that they're not going to mess produce them for the MB fitment, so that means changing the design of the mold is out of the question. All they can do is change the bolt pattern and change the offset. If they are saying that the dust cap from the hub is sticking out right with the offset you gave them and it does clear the caliper that means you'll probably have to run those Volks style raised caps.

Frank, I think you misunderstood. They aren't saying the dust cap is sticking out. If you re-read the quote I got from them, they are saying they think it will be a tight fit based on the meaurements and the "center cap would barely fit." It's all speculation at this point since they have not actually made a wheel using the specs I provided and tested it on a W203 with BBK and coilovers. Trust me, I recognize that you have plenty of knowledge and experience with MB wheel fitments. I appreciate all the information you're trying to provide here, but you are just jumping to conclusions and making implications that aren't really helping anyone.

I really don't think I have misunderstood it based on what you quoted from them "the maximum offset and hublength, it seems like the centercap would barely fit" means that they have measurement from the base of the hub to the tip of the cap compared to the wheel hublength with the offset provided. I'll just leave it at that.

according to their site, the wheel's available in 5x112 in ET30 offset for the Audi. The Audi centerbore is 57 while ours are 66. All they need to do is machine the centerbore to 66 and test fit. it's a simple process. either they've been busy or they simple don't give a ****.

The ET30 is for E46 fitment, not Audi. So far, they are only making it in ET38 for 5x112. Either way, I do agree that it should be very simple for them to have a test wheel made up, but as much as I beg for them to hurry up the process, they simply say they have put in their request to the manufacturing facility and will let me know when it is complete. One thing is for sure...you and me debating the issue isn't helping matters one bit...just making me more frustrated.
