To be honest, the Generals are priced the best of the bunch and with a width just a tad smaller than the T1R's, you think i'll be good to go? Tire choices for 255/30-19 are pretty slim unless i want to spend north of $250, which I don't. In fact, I hate to even spend this much on rims....this is a daily, not a garage queen
General's have a squarer sidewall. I'd go with the T1-R's or the FK452

Yea, I've never had Generals so I can't comment but as rlee said, I've heard they are more square and prone to rubbing. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

LOL...no, i appreciate it...i'd never say that

So, did some more reading, i can't find any info on General or Kumho tread width. I did find Falken and Hankook, 265, both on a 9.5" rim...

Falken FK452's = 10.4 section, 9.3 tread
Hankook K104 = 10.6 section, 9.1 tread

Looks like both these tires have a similar rounded side wall. The question is, are Falkens at $75 more a set over the Hankook's better? Likewise, are the Falken's at $150 more a set over the General's any better? Aside from rubbing, are the Falken's worth paying more for? I guess you could argue that you can easily eat that difference in the cost of fender rolling

255/30-19's are soooo hard to find cheap...

I've heard nothing but GREAT things about the FK452's and intend to try them out when my tires are shot.

Thanks Blake...I checked, their prices are pretty good. However, I saw Discount Tire has auctions on ebay with free shipping so the total package is a little less with them....i'm gonna try that route first.

I really appreciate all the help here. Like I said before, I'm trying to be extra cautious as this is my daily driver. My M3...well, that's my garage queen ...so that got first priority with modding and anything goes. With the C230, it has to be way more comfortable and user friendly so-to-speak. Unlike the M3, the C230 does carry passengers once in a while

Thanks again.

BTW, any good reccomendations on where to buy TEIN Basic CO's?

if that's not a photoshop of the CLK500 with those wheels they should clear your brakes.

I can't say I'm surprised at all. The biggest front lip I've seen on our cars with BBK is 1.5" so at minimum I'd say you need the 10mm hubcentric spacers from H&R. I'm running 12mm spacers up front and only clear my calipers by a mm or so, but the BBS spacers are wheel centric and cause no vibration at all, plus my front wheels are only 8" wide so I have an extra 1/2" of room to play with. The best way to tell how much room you have for spacers would be trial and error until you find the right size that clears the caliper and hopefully the wheels don't stick out past the fenders. I have a feeling this isn't going to be pretty.

no way in hell were those ever gonna clear the front brakes. you can also try shaving the hell out of your calipers and running spacer, but youll prolly have to end up painting your calipers cause itll look like ***.
