kudos to casper_c230

one correction. recommended offset different by width. 8" width on the front depend on the wheel design can go et30-et35. 8.5" width et28-31. 9" width rear et28-38 (higher offset require some rolling of the fender). 9.5/10" width et35.

32 front and 38 or 35 rear...forgot...LOL clears the AMG caliper if you are wondering about picking up mike's 4piston. 3mm spacer needed for the 05+ sport caliper however for whatever the reason is...

2005 C Sport
Lorinser Lm6 replicas 18x8.5 will the fit?

Hi guys!
I am new to the forum and have heard contradicting information from friends about whether my new rims will fit my car or not.

I have a 2005 C Sport so it has the sport suspension and I got an offer to buy some Lorinser LM6 replica wheels. They are 18"x8.5" with ET of 35. I am quite sure they would fit the back but what about the front? Any kind of modifications needed?

Also what tire would you guys recommend? I was thinking 225/40-18 all around but would those fit on the front and then 245/35-18 on the back for a little wider back?

What do you guys think? I called the Mercedes dealer where I live and they just said they can't say unless its an OEM rim. That figures.

Thanks for the help!

@ Casper for reading through the whole thread instead of just asking n00b questions waiting to be spoonfed. The only things I can't completely agree with are the following:

- 9" is the max width for the front. Some have managed 9.5" - I've never seen anybody running 9"+ up front without the wheels poking out past the fender.
- Recommended offset is 32-35 - Those offsets are fine for rear wheels 8.5-9.5" wide, but offset and wheel width go hand in hand and must be considered when determining suspension and brake clearance up front. For example, my BBS RG-R's are 8" wide in front with an offset of ET35mm and maybe 1" lip. They have no problem clearing my coilovers, but needed a 12mm spacer to clear my BBK. That brings my offset to ET23mm, which is the same as an 8.5" wide wheel with ET29mm offset in relation to the fender, but an extra 12mm of space between the wheel and suspension. The rears are 9" wide with an offset of ET30mm and about 2" lip which is the same as a 9.5" wide wheel with ET36mm offset in relation to the fender, but an extra 12mm of space between the wheel and suspension. I could easily fit a BBK if I wanted to and have plenty of clearance between the wheel and suspension.

On the other hand, @ donmega23 for asking n00b questions without doing his homework first.

OK I know I was dumb for just asking it like that. Actually there is contradicting info on the page. Or well the correct info could be here but some people say one thing and some say others. Just like you know disagreeing with Casper. Not all details are here actually. And well when it comes down to it, who can I blame if I followed the advice just from this page? There is tons of great info here but I guess I am still responsible for my own wheels when it comes down to it.

so want us to list the hundreds of possible combination for wheels that fits the W203/CL203?

scroll up and read my short and simple post after casper's long post.

another general rules of thumb: don't try to put wheels that has a lip on the front unless they are forged wheel with custom offset.

and to answer your original question. the LM6 reps 8.5 width ET35 fits. doesn't clear the coilover however. run a H&R 5mm spacer if you plan to run coilovers.

No I'm sorry for the confusion. I don't need a list of all possible combinations. Although Casper did do a really good job. I am not so great with cars and am just trying to get all the assurance that these will fit before I buy them.

Thanks for your patience and help though FrankW... One more maybe stupid question and then hopefully I can leave you alone. You said that the 8.5 with ET35 fits but doesn't clear the coilovers. All I know is that I have the sport package so I am just running sport "stock" I guess you could say. Are there coilovers in that package or will I then be ok and not need the 5mm spacers?

Also I have gathered from here that the best tire would be 225/40-18 at least for the front. Do you think I'd be safe running a 245 or 255 wide tire on the back?

Thanks again for the patience and help. I'm slowly learning here.

by coilover i meant H&R, TEIN, Bilstein, KW, etc adjustable ride height suspension setup. The stock setup is springs and shocks. you shouldn't have a problem with it.

225/40/18 front and you can run either 245 or 255/35/18 for the rear. just your preference.
