I dont see anything that wrong with it BUT in most cases "if you wanna play you gotta pay". Biggest concerns will be additionla weight which reduce the cars steering nimbleness (Unsprung weight makes a big difference) and may not be very strong such that a pot hole could more easily cause buckling.

Hey, with the money you saved, you can always a buy another/different set.

Each to their own.

Be extra careful on fitment....especially if you have large front brakes.

one word: FITMENT

and plus the chances or being screwed over by ebay seller sending you damaged wheels etc.

any wheel can bent, crack, or break when you hit a big enough pot hole.

Those wheels would look good in your car if staggered IMO. I mean your car is slammed and all

Use spacers in the rears if those wheels aren't staggered

+1 - see the W204 forum. Guy recently put a whole right through an AMG rim & did not know he had hit anything - and that was made in Austria I think.

Yeah, but there are companies that have better reputation than others of withstanding potholes.

I vouch for my OZ's! Granted, they're 3 piece rims and very sturdy, but I don't know how many huge potholes I didn't see, ran over them and my rims are still completely tru.

I've seen replicas bend more easily than a lot of other rims. I've also seen some high-end wheels bend easier than I thought they would. It really is a crap shoot, so research is really important.

Hilarious!...At the same time, very realistic. There are SO many risks a person can take when purchasing wheels, especially if they're going for "affordability" over "security/safety."

Some "replica" manufacturers make solid wheels, some "big name" manufacturers make borderline wheels that might be softer than others.

Ultimately, getting serious and just to add a little 'bit of logic to it all, there will ALWAYS be certain factors that should be taken into consideration when purchasing wheel and tire combinations:

1) Reliability of the product (e.g. strength, build, good reputation/past issues, etc...)
2) Looks (e.g. styling)
3) Affordability (e.g. what's in the budget)

The reason I list "Affordability" last is because I am not one that supports buying wheels/tires just for the sake of making the car look good. Took me roughly 3 years to decide what type of rims I was planning on going with. I could've gone the "easy" or "cheap" route right off the bat, but it was more logical in my mind to keep researching all the different wheels available and make an educated decision from there. Ultimately, when I was down to 3 different manufacturers, I was prepared (with the proper amount of money) to choose the rims that I wanted, that would last me a long time and provide me some security that I wouldn't have to worry about the product going bad.

This is the reason that I ultimately decided on the OZ Superleggera III's. They weren't as "expensive" as HRE's. They were used as a "foundation" for the CLK DTM Road Car (in essence, the same wheels, except the DTM's are lighter and have a special Benz centercap). They had a solid reputation for wheels that were "light" for 3-piece 19's, but at the same time had the strength/durability to deal with different road hazzards. Lastly, not very many people had them on the w203 and to add my own "special" touch, I had the centers color-matched.

I spent WAY more than a lot of people would on wheels, but going on 2 1/2 / 3 years having them on and I've run over potholes that I didn't see and the wheels held up VERY strong. A few little curb rashes that were totally my fault (and I should fix), but other than that I've been extremely satisfied with them.

Just a little 411 for people to consider when purchasing Aftermarket wheels.

Just gotta keep researching. Honestly, if you're not willing to put in the time to search for it (and rather go based on what people tell you), you won't be happy with what you decide.

A lot of people have been very happy with Moven wheels.
