I have +28 wheels and they barely cleared my calipers by like 1-2 mm so I got a 3 mm spacer to give me a lil more clearance.

Yes - we are talking about a very wide front wheel here & it depends on the spoke design.

BTW - one of the biggest problems on a 203 is strut clearance up front. The standard strut has a very shallow dimple. Koni Yellow's etc are better in this regard.

This seems like the right place to post this, hopefully you guys can help me decide.

I'm going to put new wheels on my '04 C230K Sport, but... I can't decide if I wanna go with 18s or 19s.

If I do 18s then I will use the money I save to lower my car (just springs, not coilovers yet), whereas if I get 19s I won't be able to lower it for a while. What would you do?

To me 19 inch wheels are stupid on these cars. They make the vehicle look too short & squat & they give the most awful ride with such low profile tyres. I think these cars are best on 17" with absolute max 18" with a soft sidewall tyre like a Michelin PS2.

It all depends what you are aiming for. A crap showpiece that is damn uncomfortable, or a civilised car that handles well. 19" wheels compromise everything including damping. With no give in the tyre sidewalls the dampers will actually allow the tyres to leave the road surface over bumps in corners etc. The car will only behave well on a dead flat road surface.

Your choice - good luck!

I would say go for 18's and buy springs rather than 19's and being unlowered...

Yeah for best comfort you'd stick with 17's and 18's are pushing the ride comfort depending on which tires you get like Glyn said. With 19s and the low profile tires you're going to feel every bump and dip in the road. I say go with 18s and get some H&R's and call it a day. If you could I would invest in some struts and shocks too or get the H&R cup kit for our cars.

Black '08 C350
i am totally new to this tire/rims stuff but i am looking to buy a new set for my black 08 C350 (original 18' AMGs have been stolen).
Car is same as this one: https://mbworld.org/forums/2421221-post83.html

i looked up couple of black OZs on tirerack that i liked but afraid they may look to tacky.

any ideas on what to get?
around the ballpark of 5k including tires
prefer black rims

i know this request is a bit vague but since i am not sure what to get even couple of starting pointers would help tremendously.

Wink HIGHLY recommend these 2 sites ...

I have purchased from both of these sites and am very satisfied with their products!

On my CLK430 - 18" CHROME STAGGERED MANDRUS MILLENNIUM
Check out the wheels here - http://www.mandruswheels.com/millennium.html

I placed the order from here, speak to YOHAN - http://www.gotwheelsandtires.com/home.aspx

On my Ranger Rover Sport SC - 22" STORMER WHEELS
http://www.usarim.com/index.php - they also sell MB wheels here!!!

At both locations, the package deals were AMAZINGLY priced!!!

06 Sport with 12mm Spacers up front. What size lugs should I get?

45mm?

I have some 40MM EXTENDED STUD BOLT 12X1.5 lugs would that work?

you need to add 12mm to whatever you are using now.

Well my stock front tires were bald and I'm pretty sure I had some bends in the front wheels so I went ahead and got a new package. Didn't want to get anything real nice since i'm still having stuff done to the diablo but I like how these turned out. Got them from tirerack. Staggered with Pirellis!

you should be ok... I'd get some 10mm spacers in the front just to make sure you have clearance for the calipers, rears should be ok... I would get 225/40 front and 255/35 in the rears... once you have them on you might rub so you might have to roll and pull your fenders. My rears rub and I have 18x9.5 et33 on 255/35... I rolled my fenders already, gonna have to do a little pull on them and do an alignment.

2005 mercedes c230 sport
2005 c230 sport sedan

victoria tire kinna screwed me, I purchased the 19" MMR HR2 wheels, 19x8.5" Front 35mm et and 19x9.5" Rear 45mm et.

Because of the large caliper on the sport model, fitment in the front was not even close, I am ordering 15mm hubcentric spacers for the front and wonder if that will make the wheels clear, also what mm lugs do i now need in the front and the rear, I have 12X1.5 tapered lugs, not an expert but the thread on the lugs is about 1", will they still work with the 15mm spacers on the front ( long enough ? ) and in the rear the same lugs were clipping the parking brake in the hub, what is the nest size to get to be a little shorter than the lugs i have that came with the wheels?

thanks for any specifics and help, Victoria Tire is horrible to deal with

you need 5mm-8mm front spacer, not 15mm

and you will need 10mm spacers for the rear with that offset.

you need to measure the lug bolts after you get the wheels with the proper spacers. you will need to have 10-12mm of threading coming out of the other side to be long enough to have 6-7 turns of threads going into the hub and not long enough that you will hit the parking brakes inside the rear hub.

yes, they will be fine, but depends on the design of the wheel.

most people with coilovers including me are all running +30 or higher offset on a 8.5" width.

I am running 18x8.5 +25 on my front. lowered to 1 finger gap and no rubbing.
