They are hyper black, and are 18's. Will I need to get some springs and lower ride height to make these look good? I will post pics when I install them.
Really nice rims

Aftermarket Wheels (18") problem

Hi

New to the forum, trying to get some insight to a problem I am having with my wife's W203 merc. Replaced her wheels with some aftermarket 2nd hand Gartmaier 3-piece wheels (pics attached).

I have 5mm EZAaccesory hubcentric spacers all around (on the rears due to the short bolts supplied being a 1mm or 2mm long, not flush and on the fronts in order to clear the larger front brakes this model came with).

I'm getting vibrations - predominantly in the steering wheel - gets pretty bad from 70 mphs onwards.

I know spacers arent ideal but they have been confirmed as hub centric and have a small thin lip on the inner hole (where it slides onto the hub). The wheels have a 74mm centre bore but I have no hub rings (2nd hand and none were supplied). My queries/questions I am hoping someone can chime in (I have read the spacer post on the W203 sub-forum):

1. Could not having the hub rings be causing the problem? I have run my own car (mazda) with and without hub rings for its own aftermarket wheels and noticed no real difference.
2. If I obtain hub rings with a OD 74mm, will the merc ID of 66.6 still be right when the hub centric spacers have their own lip? I have read that the outer hub tapers out to the 66.6 diameter at the point closest to the rotors.

Any comments are appreciated.

Regards

I BOLDED your problem.

if your spacer are made for MB with the 66.6 bore then it should fit. If the spacers are generic I suggest you to toss them and get H&R.

Cheers FrankW.

They are MB specific hub centric spacers (high grade billet).

I have ordered some hub rings today (they arent that expensive anyhow).

Because the spacer has a lip, do you think the hub rings woul fit? The lip on a 5mm spacers isnt very long.

Fingers crossed.

yea thats cool because I really like the look of those type of wheels. Is there any problems I may run into or is there a picture thread of the c203s with 18's only? I would love to see some with 18's already. What profile tire should I go with? Sorry for quick response at school right now.

BTW got a question for u guys...obviously for the 05 C230K SS, theres already a sports suspension, so supposedly its lowered...if I get 18"s and keep stock suspension, do I still need to get a drop or will i not have a big gap in the front and back tires?

Sport suspension doesn't mean it's a "lowered suspension". Lower than non-sport, but not as low as most enthusiasts would want it. The gap is still a couple inches. Doesn't mean you NEED a drop, but it sure looks better lower.

so for example, this C32 (LEEGREENWICH) is sittin on 18"s. Im guessin this is what mine will look like on my 05 C230K ss? With the big gap in the front?

Nope, the C32 sits higher than the 2004.5+ sport sedans.

would it actually be just fine to get 18"s slapped on it with probably at most 2 finger gaps in the front and at most 1 in the back on stock suspension?

Are there ppl who do that on 04+ models?

"Fine" is a matter of opinion. Stop asking other people what YOU should be making decisions about. There's plenty of pictures on this board of stock and lowered cars on all different kinds of suspensions and wheel sizes for you to make a decision about what looks "fine" to you.

I know some people that's keeping their stock suspension and have 18s/19s in their cars, but lowering your car would totally give your car a different NICER look

IMHO, having 18s/19s in non-lowered car looks so 4X4

New Wheels New Problem!

Hello All,

I decided on some new wheels but along came a problem. I have a 2005 c240 4matic I have read the threads in regards to this problem but have not come up with a solution. Here it is. The wheels are Size: 18"x 8.5"

Bolt Pattern: 5x112

Off Set: +35mm

Hub Bore: 66.6

The lugs bolts that came with them are too long for the rear wheels but seem to fit fine on the front. So the mechanic put 3mm spacers on the rear. The problem: It gives a slight vibration which takes away from the ride. What is the size that I need and if so are there lugs bolts out there if so where? Please help!

Thanks in advance!
