They dont stretch them because they need to fit the car. Drift cars run stretch tires to keep the sidewall stiff. It allows them to have more control during drifts because the side wall doesn't wobble. And because the side wall is stiff they can keep them spinning easier. While drifting the rear tire is spinning at least at twice the speed the car is actually going.

Correction, Drove An '05 C230 Kompressor SS
So......... I'm Absolutely In Love with the OEM 5 spoke AMG CLS-55 wheels, And would Love to put a set under my C-230 w/ some Stretched tires, But Is it possible?

I'm aware I would probably need to roll my fenders, And I'm just about ready to throw some coilovers under the car for precise lowering, But are the Offsets too much to play with on those wheels?

19x8.5 Offset 29
19x9.5 Offset 31

Anyone know the Answer?
Has anyone ever put these on a "C" before?

these are the wheels I'm talking about..........................................

They should fit. Those offsets are fine and you'll probably only need to roll the rear fenders. Roland has lower offsets then those on his vs-xx.

Hey guys I plan on buying the ST180 wheels from sonictuning a sponsor on here
18x8.5 ET32 5x112
18x9.5 ET35 5x112
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...9-shipped.html
What tire size would you recommend on my 07 c230? Not going to lower the car so what size would work with those wheels or is lowering a must? Also trying to stay away from 19s because the roads in Chicago aren't the best

2009 SLK 55 AMG
Would this work for my W203 C280?
Would it rub?
I'm lowered slightly below stock Sport Suspension height with CLK55 AMG struts, and Vogtland Lowering Springs.

Front:

18 x 8.5 30ET

225 / 40 / 18

Rear:

18 x 9.5 33ET

255 / 40 / 18

Compared to stock bolts on my 16 inch rims, would I require shorter or longer bolts?
Or will I have to measure them myself?
Where's a good place to get good bolts for a decent price?

Found a tire calculator program online..
Seems that if I run 225/40's and 255/40's the difference is >2.5% or something...
Guess I'll have to find 225/40 and 255/35's
Damnit =(

yes, that will do. except you need 255/35/18. not 255/40

any aftermarket wheels you will need shorter bolts.

Theyll fit. Most go with 225/40 or 235/40 front and 255/35 or 265/35 rear

Thanks for confirming!
Still undecided on those wheels. Really want the SSR GT3 / AZA Z1's but they're hard to find in the size I need for my c230.

Interesting, might do that next.

Currently 19x8.5 = 235/35 and 19x9.5 = 265/30

Ive taken mine apart. Just remember to silicone the barrels togeteher really good when putting the new barrel on. Also put loctite on each rivet so they dont loosen from vibration. Torque is ~80-85 lb/ft

The size i gave were for 18s Karo, yours are right for 19s

Look for the Ultra Blue silicone at the autoparts store. I used them because its flexible and great against vibration and use the Loctite threadlocker Red 271. When you have it all done and let it set I ran some water over the silicone to see if there were any leaks.

Yeah, those wheels look great!

Guys, another question. I found winter wheels w/ tires in the classifieds section of the forum, but I'm not sure if the tires will fit the front of the car (07 c230).

Guys says the tires are:
Dunlop Wintersport M3 winter tires: 255/45/17
with these wheels:
MSW 17"
Bolt pattern: 5X112
Offset: 35

Wouldn't there be a problem with the front tires? He claims tirerack told him they would fit on fine.

255 will not fit the front. Max you should go is 235 on the front or youre going to rub the struts and springs.

I found 17" wheels on ebay
Size- 17 "x 7.5 " Bolt Pattern-5x112 Offset- +32mm
Will they fit fine? I think my stock are 8.5 in the back 2006 c230

Also found wheels here http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/p...roducts_id=544
They are the same size and offset, but the chart mentions this *Will need spacers for AMG Brakes**
Would I need spacers? What kind? Front or back? What about lugs how long?
Thanks guys!!!

you'll probably need 5mm spacers in the front to get over the larger calipers. H&R has good spacers, you dont want to buy cheap ebay ones and make sure they're hubcentric spacers. If I was going to get spacers for the front I'd get them in the rear as well so I'd get 5mm spacers all around.

To get the calculations for the lug bolts you just need to add the spacer length to the stock lug bolt shaft length. Our stock shaft length is 39.9 so if you want 5mm spacers you'll want to get 45mm lug bolts to accommodate the spacer. Also be sure if you need ball seat or acorn seat bolts. Most aftermarket wheels use acorn seat bolts.

Very informative, thank you so much!!
Found another set of wheels
Front : 17 x 8.0
Rear : 17 x 8.0
Offset : 35mm
Bolt Pattern : 5 x 112mm

I'm guessing the offset is fine, but worried about the 8.0 in the front. Too big or will it do fine?

8 is ok in the front. Most run a staggered setup with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. 9 in front will be pushing it. +35 offset might be close in front due to the caliper, you might need a spacer depending on the wheel design. I have 17x8.5 +30 and it rubbed the calpier and needed 10mm spacers just because of the back of the spoke rubbing the caliper so now my offset is +20 in front.
