Make sure the centerbore is big enough for our cars (66.56) and you will need spacers I believe to clear the suspension. At least 10 mm up front.

I think it might be close but I dont think you will have a problem with +40.... That gives you about 2.92" or so depending on the thickness of the face of the wheel.

If it is those exact wheels there is a big chance that they are not 66.6(xx.56) and are 57.1 due to being on a VAG car. Make sure to check.

CLS Wheels

hi guys,

I'm on the lookout for new winterwheels.

I can get a good deal on CLS 8spoke wheels (Anahita wheels)

8.5x18 et28 front and 9.5x18 et33 back. should fit I think ?

but has anyone ever seen these wheels on a W203?

Or can anyone make a photoshop ? I wonder how it would look,

plan on running my current 225/40R18 Winter tyres

grtz

I know next to nothing about wheel or fitment. Found this thread, hoping for some one to point me in the right direction.

Looking to replace my stock 16" wheels with 18". Looking at a couple of options. All are 18x8, only some have a 32mm offset while others have a 35mm offset. Will run both front and back on 225/40-R18 tires.

Will i have fitment issues or modifications to make? Fender rolling? Spacers? Anything like that? At some point, I'd like to put a body kit on the car, does that change the game at all?

This will be going on an 03 C320 Sedan.

Similar to mine, but the face of your wheels are perhaps more flat, hard to tell. Also, I have some lippage since my wheels are staggered. Your say staggered, but I don't see it?

I have a stock 2003 C320 sedan with stock 16" rims 205/55/16 tires. I want to upgrade to these 18" AMG wheels. Tire sizes are: 225/40/18 & 255/35/18. They came off a 2007 C class. Will they fit without any spacers and/or new lug bolts? If they do need hardware, what do I need? Thanks!

ok, now i can not speak specifically for thos wheels, however, i do have a little experience with 8.5" rims on my 203 Coupe, so.....

Here's what i have.....

2005 C Class coupe, C350 model,

Wheels:
Front alloy wheels: 18x8.5" ET35
Wheel part number: BRA 612-858-35-RDK

Rear alloy wheels: 18x9.5" ET35
Wheel part number: BRA 612-958-35-RDK

Tyres:
Front: 225/40/18
and
Rear: 255/35/18

Now, forget the rears for the moment, and because the Coupe uses a full staggered setup, not only for the width's but also for the profiles, to take into account the different widths

So, the fronts...... originally, it had 7.5" wide rims (17") and an ET of 37, when i got these wheels i looked into the ET's a lot, and i also did a clean test fit of RIM ONLY to the front end, and whilst it did clear the calipers about the same as the originals, the inner rim edge to suspension clearance was tiny, to the point that if a tyre was fitted, then it would likely run on the suspension, especially the 235 tyres i was considering (to fill the rims a little better) so, i called MB in milton keynes here in the UK which is the go to centre for Brabus related parts and queries, and they confirmed that for my vehicle (VIN number check) it would require 5m spacers for the front wheels, to drop the ET down to 30, this was obviously to get clearance on the suspension strutt.

For me, this extra width now produced was enough to ensure i only bought 225/40/18 tyres and not the 235's i was hoping to get - the 225's only just fill the rim width, with a small stretch (i'd say ideal for the 203 would be 8" up front with an ET of 35)

Because the pivot point remained the same obviously, but the rim centre point was now further out, the tyres and edge of the rim are now flush with the centre of the arch (top) but when you turn full lock, the tyre will rub on the plastic inner arch at the front(behind the fog lights) - it is however, very very minor, if the trim was say held in tiny bit (few mm) it would not rub at all

Your ET of28 would cause the rims to stick out 2mm further, and thus may rub slightly more at the front, the rear of front wheels doesnt seem to rub on the inner arch trim infront of the door

Now the rears... 9.5" on the rear fills the arches completely, i'm running 255's and there is not a lot of clearance on the inside edge for sure, it is very tight, the outer edge, to the arches is a little better but it is close, i am on stock suspension with no change to height nor camber, it has rubbed once on me on one side, and was caused by the inner arch trim (the textured non-smooth stuff) became unclipped from the arch, and the outer edge of the tread rubbed on it, the danger area is the flange where the rear bumper joins the arch, my arches are rolled upwards as standard, i can not speak for the saloons being the same.

ET33 on the rear would give you more clearance on the inside edge, and if you used 245's instead of 255's you might be better off than i would be with ET33, but it'll be close

Here's mine on the Brabus rims (sorry for the poor pics)

Hope that helps a little bit

Check the ET values, and look at what others have used here, the ET value will be different between your stock rims and the new ones, that will be to take into account the rim width differences, basic rule of thumb, less ET = Rim edge sticking out further

I drive a 2002 C230 Coupe and I was wondering if there is anyway I could possibly run a 19x10 in the rear with spacers. The only reason is because I might be able to get a good deal on some Vossen's. But I like the staggered look and don't want to run 8.5 all around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

19X10 could work with extensive work in rear (lip-rolling, etc,... ).

What is offset?

Front:
19x8.5 ET28
235/35R19

Rear:
19x10 ET35
265/30R19

Unless you're always driving on baby-butt smooth runways, I don't recommend it.

19 X 10 can work but nnot with any out of the box offsets that Voss en has. It will have to be dialed in with a higher offset. Here is a picture of 19 X 9 front and 19 X 10 rear, with no spacers. And as has already been pointed out...... It requires a good bit of rolling and pulling! You will also have to be slammed to control the look.
Best,
Zane

@SunnyRayToronto, the front offset is 30 and the rear offset is 36. Would it help if I ran stretched tires?

@Zane @ Brada, how would I be able to figure out exactly what offsets are needed? I have a guy who does my rolling and pulling. I am on coilovers now and am decently low but needed spacers on the rear to clear suspension finally got them in and someone rear ended me. But I am working on slamming it. Also I was not able to get the pictures you posted to open.

The rears would have to be in the +25-30ish range for the rears to clear everything. I will have to check and see what the set for the c230 come out to be.

Also, I want to point out, and I get caught up in it too sometimes.... but saying you need "X" or "Y" offset to clear brakes or suspension isnt the best way to go about fitment. It is very possible to have one 9.5 +XX and one 9.5 +XX and have one fit and the other not if you are dealing with multi-piece wheels and differing lip and barrel sizes. Just something to consider. That is why its very important to understand all the measurements and potentialities of fitment. To push the limits on things, all things must be taken into consideration.

How do I know what to look for so I can push the limits or is it mostly trial by fire???

This is kind of the "secret sauce" of the wheel companies and big dealers like Wheels Boutique. The very hard part is getting the fitment right and knowing all the pertinent measurements. I would highly recommend getting custom wheels made if you want to really get that fitted glove look. Its the only way to not have to use spacers and worry about hub centricity and the inherent problems that come along with those like balance and wobbling. This however takes money to play.
To really answer your question. It has to do mostly with hub clearance, suspension clearance and fender depth.

Best,
Zane
