my 18s ride better than the factory 17s. your tires also have a significant affect in the handling. what tires do you have and the specs. I'm running Conti DWS and couldnt be more pleased with them.

Let's see who can help with this:
Gonna be running some 3-pc AMG Aero II's, need to run 20 mm spacers up front and 12 mm in the back. I can't seem to find any info about what type/size/seat bolts they take. If anyone can find out what I need to be running, I owe you big time.

are you referring to the Aero IIs like I use to have? They take a ballseat 39.9mm shank without spacers.
You're referring to these right?

heres what the OEM bolts use to look like because the bolt hole is so deep

you dont need to remove the calipers to put lug bolts on, on european cars they use lug bolts instead of lug nuts to hold the wheels in. so if you get 10mm spacers you'll have to buy lug bolts with a longer shaft to make up the difference. you'll have to add 10mm to the shaft length to the right length. Just measure your lug bolt shaft length and then add 10mm to it to get the length you need for it with spacers.
Got the spacer and everything is fine except...my thin wall splined deep socket ( gorilla impact grade) will not fit over the new 17mm hex bolt!!!! Any suggestions on where to purchase deep thin wall 17mm hex socket?

2006 C230 Sport
Hey all,
Been reading through and I've seen a lot of info and think I'll be just find but would love to confirm with you guys.
I have an 06 c230 sport (big calipers) and the wheels I want to run are Avantgarde m368 (maybe, not totally sold yet). They are 19x8.5 et35 in front and 19x9.5 et40 in rear with concave spokes. Hub bore is correct, and manufacturer has guaranteed fitment over the larger calipers. Only issue is I cannot run their center caps because of the c230's large grease caps. No biggie I'll source some / make my own.
I'm looking for a slightly flush fit, which is where I feel the +40 might be too low, but more importantly want to run 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires (Conti DWS'), which is where I think the offset might be ok. I'll be lowering her on KW Sport Comforts, and don't mind rolling the fenders , grinding the bumper tab if necessary. I want about a 1 finger gap, so def not slammed.
Phister or any of the knowledgeable gentlefolk on here know if this setup should be alright?
here's a link to the wheels if you'd like to see. Black barrel with gunmetal/ machined face.

thanks in advance

They should build the wheels to your specs. My team might be getting sponsored by them so I know they do custom setups. For fronts I'd go around +25 offset for close to flush. And rears around +30 or so. For tires I'd do 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 for a very light stretch to allow for a little more clearance.

Was just reading through some of your DIY threads and such, great write ups!
**edit, Just spoke to Scott over @ Avantgarde; unfortunately since these aren't part of their higher end lines of wheels, they don't offer custom offsets. Some 10mm spacers will sort everything out though, offset and center cap issues.
Off to search for which are lightest / strongest / best, not trying to add too much unsprung weight.

Neither actually! I made my screen name a long time before I even owned my benz. I'm looking into the Avantgarde M368 wheels. I had rpf1's on my s2000 so they were my favorite wheels back then.
