Aluminum Shift Knob
Does anyone know where I can get this knob, and if it will fit a 2004 sedan?
I tried all of the usuals, including formymercedes.com and Ebay, but no luck.
Thanks!

The pic is a C-Class '05-'07 interior with an OEM shift knob. I had an '07 C230 loaner once, but it had a leather knob. Maybe the aluminum knob is in the C55? Can anyone confirm? Either way, you could get the part from a dealership or another cheaper parts source.

that's just the 2005+ OEM shift knob for sport models.
You can retro-fit that to any older C-Class. I installed one on my 2004.5 C320 Sport Sedan.
buy it at the dealer or order from MBenzNL.com

The pic looks like a manual shift knob, so it would definitely be a 2005+ manual.
Anyhow, it is possible to retrofit 2005+ knobs on 2001-2004 models. My ash grey leather shift knob was a 2005+ shift knob that I bought from Steve. At the time, it was the only one he had left, but it fit like a glove when I replaced it.
You can also replace just the top portion (just the knob) on automatic shifters because there's a latch that holds the knob portion to the boot.

that's good to know. wonder if they are a direct swap? i would like to get a metal or leather knob to replace the silver plastic one that's in my car. buy, i have a hard time ponying up that much money for something like a knob. maybe I can just go to autozone and get one of the universals from APC

I think I'd like the aluminum one. Does Steve carry that one, or will I have to get a part number and order it from MB?

cripes- that's what i was afraid of. i wonder why shift knobs cost soo much (mercedes or aftermarket). there's nothing to them besides a chunk of billet and some time on a lathe or cnc.
