05 -C230 -Kompresor Questions- Thanks for advance
I have 3 questions about the 05-c230 kompresor sedan
53500 miles on it
i am sorry about my spelling and writing skills.
Thank you in advance
First thing : AC is blowing hot now , what seems to be the problem. Quick fact, i tried to ad Ac Frion and it shows the AC gas full , need service check
second thing : Brake( pads) signal came on , says to go the service , my question is how many miles can i drive the car until i can afford to take it for service.
third thing : the car is going to the right ( alignment i think) how much do think it will take to fix a really bad alignment.

Bless you

1st... Compressor kicking in?
2nd... Take it as soon as possible but you probably(I said Probably) can drive it around for a little while.
3rd... It all depends. If you need no parts maybe around $100.
BTW...Welcome to the forum!

I don't know if it is kicking in or not , i don't think that the compressor is kicking in.
Regarding alignment , let say i need parts much how the wholething is going to be , does it have to be benz dealer ( i don't like dealerships)
Thanks for your care

If the compressor is not kicking in, you might have electrical problems(maybe a fuse or plug). If you need parts for the alignment, I wouldn't recommend anything but OEM parts. Hope this is not the case...

For the brakes you could drive several weeks if your only issue is the brake pads. I drove my car for about six weeks after the sensor came on and I could have gone further. I recommend that you check the pads thickness to make sure they have plenty of material left. It is pretty easy to look through the back of the caliper.
To save money, replace the pads yourself. It is by far the easiest pad change I have ever done. Changing the rotors is very easy also if they are needed. Search the forum and you should be able to find the information you need to do both the pad and rotor change if neccesary.

Also - regarding alignment. Make them check the castor bushes. You might also need new 3 position castor bolts if they can't get alignment in spec.

i would get a alignment asap. Bad alignment eats tires..tires are a lot more expensive then $100 alignment.
brakes you can drive on awhile since your more then likely going to replace your rotors and brakes anyways.

However, that said. The STAR has nothing to do with wheel alignment. I'm not sure why you are asking the question. Explain & we can help you further.

My AC went out on my 2005 C230 and dealer screwed up the blower and regulator while they were troubleshooting it. I got pissed ($750 to replace even though the techs broke my blower). I went to independent ac repair place that was recommended to me. It cost about $1300 for a rebuilt compressor and related parts and labor. I cant believe that the MB compressors are such a crappy quality that they dont last even 60000 miles.
