Rotor stuck, how to remove

Ok sorry about making so many newb posts, but I'm trying to replace rotors and the old one just wont budge. I've taken the Torx screw out and am banging it very very hard with a hand mallet back and forth and nothing even moves. I've applied PB Blaster all around where the rotor meets the axle/hub. Should I go to the hammer? I'm afraid I'll chip part of the rotor off by doing so. Anyone else have a very hard time getting an old rotor off?

Use a hammer and bang it as hard as you can. You will obviously replace it with a new one (otherwise why do you need to take it off?), so don't worry about it being mangled. It will eventually come off.

when doing something like this- i always like to use a small block of wood. something about a metal hammer hitting an equally solid metal object.....i don't know, i just don't like it. put the wood on the hub and smack the other end of the wood with a hammer. it hits harder than a mallet, but not as hard/loud/jarring as metal to metal.

yeah ill definately try releasing the parking brake. i know i pushed it all the way to prevent the car from moving. The parking brake is on both rear rotors or just 1? just did front brake pads today, so much easier than the rears.

Newton22 had the same problem. He ruined the rotor hammering on it and it still wouldn't budge. Released the parking brake and it just about fell off.

My front rotor got stuck, and I had to hammer it.
I've never replaced the rear rotors.

Are the Zimmermans drilled etc?
If so, whats the PN?

I replaced my rotors this weekend and had the same problem. I sprayed some WD-40 lubricant on it (inside and out), let it sit for a few minutes and hammered it hard. I was a bit concerned when the rotor was getting beat up that the car may have to be towed, but that made me hammer harder. It took several solid hits to get them removed. It worked.
