Depends when you're available....
Say don't you have a 6 spd?

Kleemann M271 Pulley Kit with K-Box

I have recently got myself a Kleemann M271 Pulley Kit with the K-Box, I just can't wait to it fix into my vehicle. I am holding back as it keeps disturbing me whether I should exclude the installation of the K-BOX. I was informed that the K-Box works with the MB stock ECU, however, I had my ECU tuned by MKB of germany. The question is will my engine blow up if the K-Box works with the current MKB ECU with different parameters ?

Without the Kleemann K-BOX, having to install the pulley kit, will there be any noticeable difference ?

I was in a similar situation - had my ecu chipped by Upsolute, then wanted to install a Renntech pulley.

Upsolute said that I would have some serious issues such as misfiring if I did not get the ecu set back to stock programming. So, between overnight mailings, I got it in time for the pulley install this past Saturday.

From all dynos I've seen, the pulley itself will make much more than the reprogramming, so you'll definitely feel the difference - I know that I did.

it's a piggy back system.
piggy backs work by intercepting signals headed to the ECU and manipulating them to make the ecu think that the car needs more fuel, the timing isnt as advanced as it should be, you're not at full throttle yet... whatever

basically you lie to the ECU to make it react to your lie and by doing so it actually goes ahead and adds fuel, advances or retards timing ...etc without you having to go insided the computer and reprogram it .

supposedly the kleeman k-box messes with your a/f ratio, messes with the stock air bypass valve, and enhances the feel of drive by wire.

-nuke
I would really love to know how much it costs on its own

i thought it was near $1000 on it's own. don't you have to ship your ecu out to them and they ship it back? not plug and play at all.

that's upsolute where you send it in.

the k-box is a piggy back. It's external to the ecu. you wire it up certain wires in the car and that does it

They have these things now called "boxes" that I hear you can put your ecu in, and they arrive without damage. :p

Actually, the ecu's in a metal case - pretty hard to damage, even for a clumsy smurf like me.

slkfans - don't know. Couple of things:
If the piggyback completely throws out the old signal before routing it with the new parameters, then it may actually not be necessary to reprogram. I'd definitely check with Kleemann on this. Secondly, if they do need the ecu at stock, is it possible to just pop it out and send it to your MBK rep? Even for a small fee, it would be much better than leaving it chipped, and risk the entire engine. I would definitely check with K, then MBK if possible. Good luck!

I have the correct pricing (or what I was told by the dealer) for the Kleemann Engine Performance kit for an 05 1.8 c230k (M271). Read it here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/123493-decent-intakes-1-8-when.html.

Let me know if you guys think the pricing is correct.

Price $1,600

This sounds like a nice package. Anyone try it yet?

Actually, the price on a Kleemann engine performance kit more like $2100 without installation which is around $250 for a 3 hour procedure. Already quoted. Read here: https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=123493.

Smile Jumped head-in today, ordered Kleemann kit + header for M271

Hi guys, long time no post...sorry I've been very busy. I decided last night that it was time to put a bit more pep in my Coupe...so today I went and ordered the Kleemann Engine Performance kit and the Kleemann Header for my car.

In case your not sure of what it contains, it's supposed to be pulley set, high airflow filters, K-Box, and then finally the Header. I was told to expect 40/40 but I'll be happy if I see half that on the Dyno. I've been thinking about it on the ride home and I'm going to do 9 Dyno runs, 3 before, 3 after kit, 3 after headers.

I want to thank MotorWerks in Michigan for making me feel right at home and for the wonderful tour of the facility...seeing all those Mod'd Benz's made me want much much more.

I'll post the results and pictures when everything is done...I think the kit should be sometime in the next week or so, and the headers shortly afterwards.

Any opinion on if I should get the Kleemann engine cover? I'm not doing any visual Kleemann mods on the outside (badges, etc).

Anyway, had to tell someone!

Erik

Better not be, I paid in full

We discussed going the Carlsson, Rennech, or Brabus route...Brabus giving the best results but with major engine modification, however, they suggested, for best bolt-on bang for the buck, to go with Kleemann.

AFAIK they called and checked everything out with Kleemann which is how they knew about the headers that aren't out yet.

AFAIK. They list it on the website and I assume MotorWerks was able to place the order, I guess I missed something along the way, was it supposed to be discontinued or something?

Got the call yesterday, my pulley kit is in, install will take place on monday. I am doing a before dyno, but not an after pulley dyno...I'm going to wait for the headers...as much as I want to do it, I don't feel like spending the extra money...especially since I just had to buy 4 damn new tires.

Hopefully some pics on monday.
