The earning of respect is a two way street

Shake

I have but one comment. In these situations the, so called, "respected members" of the forum need to behave in a fashion worthy of that respect & not lower themselves to a level of one kid calling another.

I have no respect for anybody on this thread that has resorted to being rude in the process of berating Kris

Respect has to be earned - some are going to have to start from scratch in that process.

E, you're my new hero. Both for your wisdom and comedic talent.

On a side note, the amount people contradict themselves in this thread is hilarious. I think some people just got their panties in a twist.

I know theres quite the divide on this forum, and in this thread in particular, between those who think speeding is ok, and those who don't. No one has the right to put the life of someone else at risk in any way, wether its speeding, street racing, or whatever. My family drives on the same roads that your family drives on, and no one wants their baby sister or their sweet old lady to get t-boned by someone being careless.

My girlfriend works in ICU at RCH, which is where all head injury trauma victims in BC get transferred to, and I hear all kinds of stories about guys 18, 19, 20, being complete idiots and killing themselves and others with their cars and bikes.

So in summary, if you like to speed and be a douche where my loved ones are in danger of you, you can go * yourself. And if you've grown up and "get it", or never went through that phase, thank you for being cautious and for caring. A happy thanksgiving to all you 'mericans.

LMAOROTF!!!!
Especially Movieola's comment about the GF thing...oh damn...
I go away for a few days, and another idiot
And BTW I got a ticket on Weds for doin 79 in a 65 just this side of the Oregon Border, ironically just outside of the town of Weed, CA though I wasn't smoking any bong hits.

Me and a guy in Suby WRX had been passing each other back and forth...
I caught up and passed him (was actually stupidly hoping to get side by side with him....thank god I didn't) and bam, and CHP came up over a hill, and had me. My detector went off just as he peaked the hill, slammed the brakes
(don't need to use my ebrake since he's in front, and it's so stiff it doesn't dive) but it was too late. He followed me for while before pulling me over.

I forgot to ask to see the radar gun etc. but not like I'll be driving to Doris, CA (where he was based, a really small town) I'm assuming i'll be doing online traffic school.

The terrain out there is right out of "Vanishing Point".
Looks like Krisv420 has reached exactly that.
Hasta La Vista!!!!

Trutaing can you pass the please? he he....hilarious.....
Damn, I have no idea what my 1st ticket was for.....

My first ticket was for double parking on Los Angeles.
The funny part is that I had given the car ('88 dodge shadow) to my buddy's towing company which was supposed to have done a lien sale on it. I got the ticket 3 months after I moved from California to Virginia.
I got the ticket dropped as i could prove i wasn't in the state at the time.

Geez, I just went back and read this whole thread again...
geez, what a loser I am to have nothing better to do...
actually I do, but I'm addicted to the forum, like a crack head to
rocks...
In any case, I can't help but the getting the image of
Emilio Estavez in Repo Man, when a guy gets shot in a robbery, and Emilio's character knows him.
Duke: The lights are growing dim Otto. I know a life of crime has led me to this sorry fate, and yet, I blame society. Society made me what I am.
Otto: That's bull****. You're a white suburban punk just like me.
Duke: Yeah, but it still hurts.

Slow down Kris, or you won't have any money left.

+1... Slow down and turn down!!!

On that note, it's not as if I've never done anything myself... I got a speeding ticket for 74 in a 55... when I was really doing about 80. The cop toned it down so I would only get 3 points instead of 4. I was annoyed because I was following a guy doing the same speed. The cop met the guy I was following in a corner so the gun didn't get a read on him, but on me. But speeding is speeding... but careless driving isn't careless driving (see my ticket thread).

Not trying to start another argument (but I probably will anyway)... But OP, I understand being pissed about getting a ticket, but the way you've been mouthing off (especially saying that a $300+ ticket is no biggy), you are just perpetuating the rich kid stereotype. The only way to make (or rather keep) money is to save. No matter how much you have, throwing away hundreds of dollars at a time has an impact. By saying it doesn't makes you seem like a spoiled "rich *****" brat... not wealthy or classy.

I'm sorry you got your ticket, and I think that noise tickets are a bit BS. Although, if you're going to listen to your music very loudly, you might want to role up your windows, it increases the acoustics of your car.
