Stock Speakers - 2006 C230 Sport?
I've looked high and low and can't find the answer to this.
Stock audio system.....how many speakers, what size, and where are they?
Also...what's beneath the mesh triangular grill in the middle of the dash?
Thanks a lot!

6 speakers.
One in each door.
Two tweeters in front toward the top of the doors, cant miss it.
Rear shelf has no speakers and is filled with sound deadening foam.
Speaker grille on the center of the dash is also empty, used for a center fill speaker with the HK sound system.
Don't know much else about it, I would like further info as much as you.
I can tell you that they changed the speakers from 05 up, and they sound a hell of a lot better. As a matter a-fact they sound FAR better than the Bose system in our W210 E class.

The tweeters in these cars I believe are 1-inch dome tweets. Pretty much any aftermarket speaker company's tweets will go in the spaces without having to modify the speaker grille(s) at all. quick tech tip: if you're replacing your 6.5 speakers in your doors, try hot-gluing some thick air conditioner foam around the speaker surround before you reinstall the door panel. when you put the door panel back on the foam presses between the door panel and the speaker, creating a seal that keeps a lot of the midbass frequencies (usually 80 hz and up) from getting "lost" behind the door panel. you will be amazed at the difference this simple little trick will create!!!!!

dont change out those front speakers with regular COXIAL speakers.. you will loose a lot of midrange and deep bass. Make sure you switch the fronts with Components. Check out crutchfield for help

My 2005 C240 has component up front and single fullrange in door in rear. No sub on rear deck. I upgraded completely Here are some pics of the speaker mounts I made. Front components and rear coax. The OEMs have their own special mount.. If you remove them you have to build a speaker mount like I did. Some people gut the OEM driver (destroying it) and screw in aftermarket in the oem mounts. Not my best choice.

Please explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish. Do you already have aftermarket speakers in the doors? How where they installed? Or is it completely stock?

Check out this thread for tips on adding a sub and speakers to the rear deck: Rear deck speakers
I agree that it is an irritating task to remove the rear deck to install the speakers. It is somewhat less difficult if have folding rear seats.
