Some of you guys are so thick headed its unbelievable. The simple facts that came out of that white paper are that a sprint booster does nothing more than REDUCE YOUR PEDAL TRAVEL by compressing the response into less distance out of the pedal. That is *ALL* that it does. You might as well put a wood block under the pedal adjusted so that the gas pedal can only be pushed down 70% of the way, because the other 30% is now useless! All this does is makes your vehicle HARDER to control (acceleration wise). If you feel like this makes your car faster or more responsive than you are sadly mistaken. You could just press the pedal down further and you would *EXACTLY* match the "improvements" from a sprint booster. This is not opinion, it's fact. I said this from the beginning in the huge sprint booster thread. I'm glad this white paper was posted!

yeah well, once you get going then it doesn't really affect you. mine is 6-speed, and every time i shift/accelerate or rev-match it makes a big difference. its a must have for manual drivers, but unnecessary for auto IMO.

Thanks guy, but I understand the paper and its charts clearly.
What you're not understanding is how this device makes my car feel faster based on MY own experience. If it tricks me into believing my car feels faster, what's wrong with that? I enjoy the hell out of it.

anyway i guess i made my point, and the point of many users without the sprint booster...
its not useless BUT :
it does not improve 0-60, acutally it does by 0.07 seconds, with a C320 0-60 around 7.7 seconds, thats 1% improvement... you might as well say that you have a C323.2 instead of c320
its not a revolutionary item,
its not the smartest gadget you will have on your car,
it does not modify the car's lag, since there is none with our benz (unless YOU can feel time < 0.1 s)
and finally knowing how this thing works, its VERY expensive...

It doesnt even improve it by 0.7 seconds. The throttle response is EXACTLY the same, up until the final 1/3 of the throttle. Only then does it START tending towards 0.1 seconds sooner, and thats only because its already "floored". Dont forget that the throttle in the situation without the sprint booster would already be 2/3 open at this point, so you get the last 1/3 of the throttle a whole 0.1 seconds sooner. Also, consider the fact that when you MASH the pedal froma stand still, the traction control is going to be limiting the throttle input through the top of first gear anyway (at least mine seems to the couple times I have accelerated hard, not even WOT). So the gains felt at the WOT end of the pedal are negated by the traction control anyway. There is ZERO performance benefit, its just a way to tune the sensitivity of the pedal and make the car feel different.
I could do the same EXACT thing with my carbureted Monte by messing with the throttle linkage. Will it make the car any faster? No. Will it make the car feel like its faster at part throttle? Yes, but only because what I think is 50% throttle is now really 70%.
This thread reminds me of the plane on the conveyor belt.

Hey! If you like the feel of a more sensitive throttle that reaches WOT at two thirds of the pedal travel - enjoy. I think what some of us are tired of is the misunderstanding & distortions of what is a simple process. And distorted claims that ARE NOT made by the manufacturer.

I could care less if someone else buys it, just dont make it out to be something its not and get someone else to waste their money with false hopes.

There are so many false claims in that thread, it's not even funny.
The throttle is not what's creating the lag... and even if it did, amplifing the signal from it does not send it to the computer any faster.
I dont know how much simplier this can be made...

There are so many topics about the Sprintbooster, much negative, much positive. But what i see is that most of the Negative posts are posted by people who havent tried it. The positive post are people who have one or had one.
The white paper was also on a manual transmission car, so i dont know if it make sense on a manual car.
I was sceptical in the first time, but i ordered it to try it. And now i love it.
A good ECU tuner can also do the same like Glyn M Ruck said, but here in The Netherlands they ask € 700,00 for it.
I wrote this on another board couple of months ago:
Believe me, if it didn't work, i don't be so positive about it.
For example, my father always go to busines relations on wednesday with MY car. Today when he came back, the first thing he said. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR CAR??? He said that it reacts MUCH more on the gas and on the acceleration on the highway driving 60 mph, the downshift comes faster/earlier than before the sprintbooster.
Without knowing that i have installed the Sprintbooster, because i want to know, is it's between the ears ?, or does someone who don't know that i installed the SB, feel that there is something done on the car...
