2003 mercedes c240 with 4 matic

local dealer has a 2003 mercedes c240 4 matic for sale with 90,000km or 55,000 miles.

What kinda problems should I expect if I buy it? Anything big and if so what?

I want something fairly reliable and I do understand the more toys you put in a car, the more problems but don't wanna be going to the mechanic once every 3-4 months either.

If I do get it, expect it to be pimped out

Most of the electrical problems had been sorted by 2003 production. The C240 engine is bullet proof. Good for well over 500,000 Kms
Likely problems

Odd CPS replacement
Coil pack & ignition wires at high mileage.
Front Castor bushes are a known weakness.
Fuel pumps at high mileage
Odd MAF replacement
VALEO radiator leaking coolant into the auto box. If it has a Valeo - swap it for a Behr
Some American models suffer broken door pulls

Make sure it has been serviced to the book. Otherwise a good tough car.

Fortunately my door pull has stayed intact...but every other day or so I just pull it gently...wondering if it will pop off.

I'm freaked out about that one for some reason.

Exactly what he said. 2003 was the last year for the problematic Valeo radiators, so that would be something that you will want to check on if you get it. Another thing, at 60,000 miles, you may want to ask the dealer if it has been looked at for this mileage, I believe the 60,000 miles is a milestone for flushing the radiator, maybe flushing the trans fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid and possibly replacing the fuel filter. If these things haven't been done already, expect to do them in the near future. It's good preventative maintenance.

FAAAAAACk why didnt i find out about this sooner!!!! I broke my drivers side door pull tonight as i was leaving work! It came off and i was like wtf...i expected it to pop back in but then i realized it was broken. I thought those things were supposed to be strong.

O well im thinking of using some kind of cement glue compound to glue it back...any thoughts?

I had my pasenger side door pull replaced under warranty. I also thought it came unlatched but it just broke, plain & simple.
