Looking for AMG brake system, 4 or 6 pot!

As it says I'm looking to upgrade my brakes for my w203...I want either the c55 4 piston or the 6 and 4 piston set up on the E55 etc...

I just want the fronts if I'm going 4 piston front but obviously will need both front and rear to go 6 piston front...

Thanks!

That could just completely unbalance the braking on the car!!!

Overbraking the rear - If you want to get into a discussion on balanced & effective braking, buy lots of popcorn and be in for a long ride. I'm not sure I have the energy after the AMS pulley thread & crankshaft harmonics.

Why would you wan't to mess with AMGs developed, tested & proven 6 pot front & 4 pot rear setup? A lot of engineering went into getting that correct & balanced.

If you are doing it for cosmetics alone - well that's fine. Over half the lowered cars on this forum have their rear ends too low for optimum CD & handling & are guaranteed to form a pressure wedge under the car & float around at high speed.. If it's for cosmetic reasons then do as you wish.

i don't think people do bbk's as a cosmetic look....granted most don't track their car's but any amg upgrade is better then what comes stock on a c230/240/320.....

i don't see how for the street a 4 pot front and 4 pot rear can mess things up....that's just me

Wavey - It might be relatively safe to do but it's never going to be optimum. I come from the point that if you are going to mod a car then research it properly and go for something truly proven - eg. If you went Brembo they would have a recommended back front combo. If you go AMG then go their proper combo. I have run my own race teams both car & bike and brake balance is crucial. It's not as though you have manual overide to adjust back to front balance "on the fly". On cars with ABS & BAS it would make sense to go much better brakes but keep the back to front retardation ratio as close to standard as possible.
