I wanna' get my pieces wrapped too..
Wrapper is requesting all pieces be removed for better quality..
Which I believe is required..

But I don't know how to take off all the trim pieces =/

Tutorial would be very much so appreciated

door trim inserts - I used a combination of a flathead screw driver to raise the "disc type looking" locks a little bit and then pliers to remove it. I have to jerk the disc locks left and right while pulling it upwards off the black thing sticking up.

First 2-3 locks will be hard since you are being careful not breaking anything but you will get the hang of it after a few tries.

Window switch trims - I kinda forgot how it looks like but I remembered the passenger side to be easy since it is just held on by locks that you have to pry off using a cloth covered flathead.

The driver side is covered by insulation so if you want to wrap it, you have to remove the brown wood like insulation held by a thick black adhesive.

just follow the door panel removal thing you found. trim on the top needs to be unclipped from the back (they're self locking clip, so you need to take a small plier and bent them to get them off. remember to save them for putting it back) and the trim around the switch has a couple small torx screw holding it after you remove the switch from it.

Thanks for your replies. I got them all off and are wrapped and back on. I couldn't remove the window switch surrounds because I didn't have a small enough torx head so everything is wrapped apart from them. I might wrap the grab handles aswell I'll wait and see it might be too much. That di-noc stuff is brillliant its so easy to use. Thanks again for the help lads

Crazy day here in Scottsdale yesterday. Rain so strong you can't even see 10 ft away from your car and hail the size of golf *****, some even as large as tennis *****.

Good thing I was already at my friend's place and shielded my car right away.
2 dents on the roof from the hail.

Dont know if insurance covers these kinds of stuff... i hope they do coz a lot of people are gonna be pissed if they dont.

Very interesting driving around after hail, you get to see all sorts of damages kinda like a warzone. I saw broken windows, dimpled as hell cars, shattered satellite dishes and shattered sign boards.

i think its cover under your comprehensive insurance part of your auto policy. I think its basically considered acts of god type of stuff, similar to a tree tipping over and falling on your car. But i would ask your insurance agent.

Yeah, we had a 20 degree drop in just 20 minutes. Some parts of the valley only got pebble sized hail but our city got the biggest ones.

- Driving around with a gps on the windshield is illegal in California, right? Im going to Los Angeles next week and I dont want to be pulled over just for that.

i know it is illegal but the question is do they enforce it. i am curious too. I drove around in my rented g500 with one on there and no one bugged us including a cop that was admiring it in a parking lot.

They say its easy because it doesnt wrinklelike ordinary vinyls when you apply heat on it. It's very forgiving like when you make a mistake and a bubble pops up, you just heat it up and peel it back then re-apply it.

I've used 3 kinds of vinyls already and this one is the easiest of all since it already is backed with adhesive and the matte finish is really beautiful.
Its also soap, rain, sun, hail and scratch resistant and very tough adhesive too.

If you're a beginner on applying vinyls, try to wrap something that doesnt have that much curves on it first like pillars, grille or your hood...because if you wrap your side mirror without practicing, you're just gonna get frustrated with it because of the heat/pull/wrap process.

Your ride is awesome. Any chance you can post a list with manufacturer names of the front side and rear bumpers? I'd love to get them on my car too!
Thanks and again, nice job on your ride!

Correction, Drove An '05 C230 Kompressor SS
Took a while but I found this post in a search.
I Ordered a 24"x 60" sheet of 3M Ni-Doc Carbon Fiber Vinyl and plan on doing some interior pieces next weekend.
Did you do the door panels or steering wheel inserts?

Sigh, this girl has been neglected for a long time now. Driven less than 20 miles in the last 5 months. And I used to spend so much time with her before the new girl stepped in.

-Chrome in the cup holder is peeling off. (anybody have an idea on how to fix this mess without buying a new one?)

- Sun shade wont come down. (I hear a click everytime I press the button so fuse and motor might not be a problem)

- Window moldings look like purplish crap.

-Chrome molding in the door's exterior looks crap (anybody know the right size of the black weather striping to cover the chrome?)

- Knocking noise on the front passenger side over speed bumps. (maybe worn out bushings or something else?)

- no wax for the last 8 months.

So, any suggestions regarding the cup holder and weather striping length and width would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Im also thinking of changing the look of my car a little bit by rattle can-ing the stock rims in gun metal color. Anyone tried this method yet? Will it look cheesy on a silver car?
