help in sound system instalation
hello all, i have a c230 komp 05 SS , i installed myself an amplifier with 2 subwoofers, but the (+) for the amplifier i wired it to the fuse box that is in the left of the driver seat ( between the door and the driver seat) but when i increase the sound and if i have the car lights on and there is a lot of boom then the light increase and decrease with the bass ( like if the amplifier is sucking all the electricity of the fuse box, i want to wired the amplifier imidiately to the battery but i couldn't find a hole between the battery and the inside of the car, does anyone know how to do it or where is the hole if there is any? and another thing , i have a command , the amplfier as u all know needs a 'remote' wire , i putted an ON/OFF to turn on and off the amplifier, can i wire the remote wire to anything so the amplifier goes off when the car goes off (like to the radio or a certain fuse box or something) ?
thank u in advance guys

You can wire the remote wire to your head unit, or I guess not because you have comand. You could wire it to the ignition, but I'm pretty sure there is a switched power source in the trunk you can go to(dont remember what it is). To wire your power cable to the battery go through the firewall. Take off the passenger side kick panel and get a flashlight and look around you'll see it.

you are asking for trouble having it hooked to anything on the fuse box- it wasn't meant to handle that load.
there is a switched power source for the sig lighter. i can't remember which wire it is though- search the forum, it's been discussed before.
there is a plastic block in the passenger footwell. you can get to it from the footwell or behind the battery under the hood. there are a few plugs in that block that can be taken out to run the wire through to the battery.
a cap is not going to solve your problem, even when you do wire it correctly. the alt still has to charge the cap. when listening to bass heavy music- caps really serve no purpose. do the "big 3" upgrade and call it a day.

read any real audio forum or anything written by someone respected in the audio world- they are more or less a waste. a 'big 3' upgrade will be more than enough for what the original poster needs. more batteries and a bigger alt could be added (not sure if anyone makes one that works on MB) if really needed.
To quote your link: "Capacitors might help, but they do not take care of the fact that your car's system is underpowered. They are a "patch" for a more serious problem"
the only time they are slightly beneficial is in music that doesn't have much bass, then a sudden large bass hit. any kind of rap or bass heavy music they are of no use

There is a rubber vertical strip behind the dash and above the passenger foot well that has some red factory wires running through it. You can see the outline of the other holes so use something long to poke it out and it will take you behind the battery.

yeah thats what i figured you guys were doing was using a line out converter. i just got an 06 c230. i had an 05 f-150 before and i kept the stock radio in that cause it had an in dash 6 cd changer. i used a lint out converter for that to hook up my subs in the truck. i am debating yet on the car if i want to go with a new head unit or just use the stock one.
