How did that happen? I'm just curious.. I don't know how to take it off personally.

Felt Hose

Mine fell apart after about 52k miles. It seems like a cheap felt thing, and mine just got baked from the heat.

I believe it is part # 271-090-03-82. I had the guy at my MB dealer look up my VIN on his parts computer to confirm the fit. It was just under $58 out-the-door about one year ago.

The MB tech installed the thing for no charge, while I watched. It looked like he just slipped each end on and unscrewed the support clamp in the middle to snake the hose through. I'd have to go look at mine to be sure.

Hope this helps.

$58 OTD, and the tech installed it free? It seems like I read in another thread where a stealership was trying to charge a guy with an 05 C230 about $500 to replace said felt hose. Highway robbery.

Just had this problem myself. Can anyone be more specific on how to change this flimsy tube? I'm looking at the darn thing and I can't figure out how this removes or how it's clamped in.

mine ripped, I ended up making my own custom intake with some air duct tube and high temp duct tape, also 2 clamps, Its not solid though I want to make a real custom one

when you bought it from the dealer did they include the whole intake from clamp to clamp or was it just the tube?
