Hey guys I wanted to share a little adrenalin rush I just had. (Not really a kill to post in kill section)

I was on emergency call and had to go to work and I just got back. I came to a red light which there was a black CL500. I was smoking so my driver side window was down and my passenger windows was halfway down. When I pulled up next to the CL I heard laughter. I turned my head I saw a guy and girl looking at me and laughing. I really dont know wtf was funny but it got me real pissed. I wanted to show him who is laughing now so I thought a perfect time for a little go at it. I knew I didnt have a chance but atleast I can keep up with the CL500. (was I wrong)

Light hit green I pressed the pedal (felt like 3/4) and the CL took of as well. I couldnt see the CL until I was around maybe (didnt look at speedometer) 70 -80 MPH . I saw the CL in my rear view. Up ahead was a red light and a car made a left turn (going our direction) which looked like a cop but it was a damn taxi lool

We kind of got side by side (by the time we hit the intersection the light turned green) and I gave the guy a dirty look (one eyebrow up kind of thing). Then he just mashed on the gas and kept going. I cruised all the way home (this was on Olive by the NBC Studio in Burbank).

I'm gonna get a good nights sleep (3 hours before I have to get ready to go to work again lool) I went and read a CL500 (04) does 0-60 in 6.1 which I see why I had a good chance. But the amazing part is he was I was pulling from him I thought it should be other way around

P.S. Those of you who have the m272 3.5 dont worry about the CL500s you can take them

According to W204 C350 owners over on their forum you can also beat me in my 135i. At least on the highway.

Let me know when you're ready to come to Georgia and test that delusional theory.

edit: I should add that I don't dispute your claim about the CL at all.

w203 C350 will absolutely pull on a CL500, SL500, S500. E500's and CLS500's are tougher but they're still SLIGHTLY slower than a C350. CLK500's are SLIGHTLY faster.

No way a C350, w203 or w204 will keep up with a 135i or a 335i, from a dig for from a roll.

Don't tell this to some of the folks on the W204 forum. As an owner of a 135i, I put my 2 cents in on the W204 side when an owner of a new C350 theorized that a C350 could "walk a 335i or IS350" from a roll at highways speeds.

Of course that made me negative according to the defensive owner(s). I find it funny. I love the C350 (W203 or W204), but I'm realistic about it.

A LOT of owners of lots of cars are in complete denial if not mis-informed of what thier cars are capable of, much less other cars. ALL else being equal, the C350 (both W203 and W204) is MUCH slower than a 335i, slower than an IS350.

what idiots. well, what do you expect from them? first time Mercedes/luxury car owners and they think that their car is the best thing on earth b/c it was a huge step up from their Hyundai Elantra. I've had C350's come up to me on the highway thinking that they can take down an M5.

the CL500 shouldn't be a problem for a 350, that car is a damn boat.

I'm 100% sure. I've had a modded C350 come up to me and tailgate me and then try to get next to me in the M5. Guess he thought b/c he had AMG wheels that they'd help him perform! But exactly what I was saying, morons!

I know for sure my car will get smoked by your 135. I once raced a 335 sedan knowing it was a 328. Boy was I wrong the 335 has 4-5 cars on me. Your 135 (especialy 6mt) will kill the my 350 any day of the week.

Not true stock. 1/4 mile: A stock C55 vs stock 135, its a drivers race

On the highway a stock C55 would beat a stock 135i

Modded C55 vs 135i Im on the fence only bc i know a handful of C55's who
would beat up a 135i. Its not a fair comparison.

I beat a 135i (in my c32) in the 1/8 mile. not by much. If it was a 1/4 I would have had the upper hand.

I think he meant C55 vs M5.

Stock for stock I would think the C55 would have the upper hand, even against a 135i. It's too damn easy to chip a 135i or 335i though.

If I were to race a C32 or C55 in my 135, I would expect to get beat. I would never think (much less be ignorant enough to post out to the public) that, inspite of big power differences, I thought my 135 could walk those cars. Not sure why people insist on ignorance sometimes, even when facts are pointed out to them.

Ive read some good numbers on the 135i
In fact LET Motorsports(sponsor) has a in house 135i they offer tuning and parts for.

Speaking of which the three M5's i have seen at the track has gotten its *** handed to them. Be it an E55, a EVO, and Mustang GT's with mild mods.
Doesnt seem to be a lot of experienced M5 drivers out there.

Stock 135/335's are easy prey for a boosted C32. Been shown taillights by those properly modded.

My stock 135i is just 300hp/300tq which is significantly less than AMG C-class cars.. I wouldn't expect to win in that case.

However, A C230/320/350 has no chance.

I never really thought about comparing the C350 to CL500, ever, until now.
I find this thread to be very informative to many things i never even knew about.
