Exclamation Cylinder head replacent...

Has anybody had a cylinder head replaced on a 2003 C230k, Unfortunately mine has to be replaced, I had some work done on my car back in June hoping it will fix the problem, I kept getting a check engine light with P0304 code. My bf did some reaserch and he tried fixing it, but the problem was still there, so I took it to a mechanic close to my job.

I guess I should have gone to a dealer instead of some random shop... I ended up paying them close to 2k and the problem persist, my car is just sitting on my drive way since then , I would like to have an idea of what the cost would be to have the cylinder head replaced, I would really appreciate any feedback.

Yeah you could look around the board. This seems to be unfortunately not a strange case with the 2003 cars.

About a $4000 job generally.

So you paid someone 2k and the light is still on?? P0304 to me would be wires or coil pack.. You need a ( BF ) that knows what hes doing to a car i guess..

Hope you get your car fixed

Head replacements suck! I went through this same thing almost a year ago, so I feel your pain. In fact, I went to the dealership, and they didn't fix it the first time (which I paid for), and then went in a month later with the same problem and they finally fixed it (which I paid for again). Their justification for charging me twice... I paid for labor only on the first job, and parts only on the second job - so I guess I paid for it once, at least that's how the dealer thinks of it.

Good luck - keep us posted.

You paid a lot of money 2K. Do you still have paperwork? Most time these mechanic shops see a girl and they try to take advantage of them by lying to them.

Look over your reciept and see what they did/changed. What did they do the first time?

If you find that the repair should have fixed your problem then go with someone who has good knowledge about cars and confront the Mechanic shop.

2K is no joke, so don't take no for an answer.

Yeah - We had a lady family member who's early 2004 car went through 3 heads in 100,000 Km - fortunately Benz picked up the bills. - She now drives a V6.
