So you're finally pulling the trigger on tires and putting the 05 Sport rims on? Can't wait to see the result.
I'm at 113,000 now. I'll probably catch you eventually.

They look great! Glad to finally see them on there.
PS - I drove on those rear tires during the freak snowstorm in GA this winter, 5" of snow fell. A dusting typically paralyzes this city. ESP worked overtime but we made it to our destination.

So just an update. Car is now at just over 164k
Had the crankshaft pulley replaced last week. My car now idles way better then before. (mine was bad)
At the moment my car is in the garage on jack stands. The passenger side has a new rotor and brake pads. The driver side is in pieces. Sadly the rotor is stuck on and at 10pm the BFH could not come out and I don't have any bolts to do the bolt trick ... so I have to wait till morning. Then I need to check the rear brakes because I was thinking about it and the pads might need replacing. Of course I did not order them so that means waiting for the to ship from rmeuropean or paying the wonderful dealer price. So I will update soon with results.

It was like $45 on ebay. Brand new in box. RMeuropean was out of stock so I got the bolt from them (Mercedes says to replace it) Then insulation was like $50 after the $100 off coupon.
As for the brakes.
So got up this afternoon and went to the hardware store to buy some long bolts, washers and nuts. Came home hit the rotor with BFH for 10 minutes and it still would not budge. So I got the bolts and tightened and untightened the bolts for 20 minutes and all it was doing was bending the bolts. I was then interrupted by the neighbor who was saying high and asking what I was doing. So I sit back down and give the wrench another turn and BANG the thing jumped off. The dam thing sounded like a gun shot and now my right ear is ****ed. So my car is put back together replaced the brake fluid and beaded in the brakes some have to go back out when traffic has died down and do one more pass. But when I was doing the bleeding I found that the rear pads are at from what I can guess 25%-40% So I am going to order the pads and a few other items to have on hand for when the brake pad lining message come up again.

Trip to Ebensburg PA
On the way home
This was on the way home and a little girl was staring at me it was funny. Then a few miles up the road there was 5 or 6 14 or so year olds in front of some general store in the middle of the town (less than 10 buildings small town) as we drove by they started to jump up and down and wave it was so funny
So on the way up there a fourth generation GTI with mods and I were stuck behind a truck passing a car going around this great banked corner and then up a grade. Finally right after the corner the tuck got out of the way and the GTI took off so of course being the good citizen I am I kept up with him to get his tag number lol he did not seem happy that he could not pull on me (I was only at like 75% throttle and had a friend in the car and lots of luggage). So yeah I kept up with him till my maturity came back and I slowed down to a reasonable speed. He kept going and slowed down a ways in front of me. We went into a town and he got off next door to the shell station I stopped at and honked and waved a good by lol BTW there was no traffic on the road and we were in the middle of no nothing BTW this was 30 or so miles before my car turned over to 165k The secret to keeping a reliable w203 like mine is a good Italian tune up ever week or so Sadly on the trip I did not get great millage to many turns and lots of climbing and descending mountain roads. Coming home was actually where I did bad because there was lots of minivans on the country roads. So I had to slow down before the corners and let them get way ahead and then fly through the corners and then slow down behind them till the next one. That really kills fuel millage lol

So my car was bad today. I got off work and drove to a restaurant. Parked it for 30 minutes then when I was leaving I start the car and get a BAS visit work shop. So I say some choice words and restart the car. The error was gone so WTF. I guess I will wait to see if it comes back but I think it could be something to do with the tail light switch that the 01 had that I have heard can cause issues.

Or it could be an arbitrary thing like they all do sometimes. I've had the SRS warning once, I've had a sudden "ESP Unavailable" warning once.. quirky but not serious. Let's hope that is what it is.
