So true that is why i am not upset. The sensors are known to give issues on 01's just like the CPS and the part cost me $10 so if it fixes it who am I to complain. I actually used my $60 Hankook American express gift card i got when i bought my tires to order the parts. I bought 3 $20 gift cards and they emailed them to me then i ussed them to buy my parts. I ordered Rear brake pads, Pad sensor, trans mount, Rear diff fluid, and the brake light sensor. I love rmeuropean

So Saturday I did something that was so much fun. For my birthday back in may my father gave me an option of either doing Friday at the track or an accident avoidance course. They were both offered up at a race track called Summit Point My father use to race up there when I was a kid and I really enjoyed watching him (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summit_...torsports_Park) BTW Friday at the track is where you take your car and get to drive around the track with an instructor and learn about your car on a track. I decided against this because I didn’t want to drive my dads g8 gt or gti and didn’t want to use my car because it has 165k and figure I should be nice to it lol. I decided to go with the Accident avoidance course because it would be practical and I figured would be somewhat interesting and get me an insurance discount.
So we showed up and went into a class room environment for an hour where the instructor showed 25 of us what we would be doing and basics of weight transfer and vehicle dynamics. After that the instructors split us up into groups of 3 students per car with one institutor. We then got into the ex police Crown vics (what an interesting car I had only driven normal ones not police package ones) Then in groups of 3 cars we split up to 3 different modules. The first one I did was slaloms which was awesome but also very educational for learning how the car drives. We were on part of one of the many tracks so we go to have fun in between the straights that had the slaloms set up
it was fun. After about an hour of that we would switch to the next module all while switching drivers every two or so laps. The next one I did was braking with no abs. I had driven cars without abs before so this was not too bad for me but i feel bad for my other two car mates we spun and slid a lot. We learned about threshold braking and how to use it in the cones and in the turns on the course our instructor would yell brake randomly. We then went to a cone setup where there were 4 cones setup in a long rectangle and then a cone in the very middle. We would approach at 50-65 depending on how brave you were and then the instructor would yell brake left or brake right and you would have to dump as much speed as you could then let off the brake a little so you could have steering then stop at the two cones on the other side. I did very well at this but still killed bambi (the center cone) because I got cocky lol. We also were told to drive into the dirt and grass to lean how to recover safely. The last exercise before lunch was skid pad
My new favorite thing ever. I have always had fun on the roundabouts in my area and am known to do a few laps and make the other motorists very angry or my passengers lol but this was so much better. The instructor did not let us have brake or gas pedal control but my instructor was crazy so it did not matter. We first worked on front skid and once the instructor saw that we could handle that we worked on rear skid and just had fun. I had no issue with front skid and was very good at fixing rear skid so my instructor made a bet to see if I could hold the skid for ½ a lap. I did a full lap lol before we got to close to the guy in front of me and slowed down. Then as payback like a lap later he purposely made a skid I could not correct so I spun and of course my dad has video I will have to see if I can get it sadly it is front a phone. Then after lunch we had another 45 minute class to go over what we would do next to build on what we had already learned. The first one I did next was threshold braking in a turn at 50 -60. I did not like this because with no abs the inside rear wheel was locking and the first few times I would try to get it to unlock which of course really doesn’t matter because it is not doing much breaking anyway. So once I got that it went a lot better. Then next we did a little quiz where it was myself the instructor and a parent if you wanted. You were on the track demonstrating what you had learned. Sadly I knew there was supposed to be some surprises so I took it slower then I should have only like 60 while others got up to like 75 and carried more speed through the corners but even with that it was fun we drove off the track at one point to avoid obstacles in the track and did lots of braking and sharp turns at speed. Then our last module was more skid pad this time we had to get up to 35 on a straight into the wet skid pad and when the instructor said to break while maneuvering through two cones then around another and through two more. This was a lot of fun and I did very well at it because unlike my two car mates I would let off the brakes enough to turn unlike them who would not let off enough. Then at the end we did more plain skid pad. I forgot to mention earlier that the instructor after the initial learning threshold breaking and getting good would sometimes turn on abs to show us how to use it more effectively and not just let abs do it all for you because in the wet or other situations unless you let up on the breaks some you will not be able to avoid the obstacle this was very apparent on the skid pad trying to avoid the cones if you just mashed the brakes you would hit the cones but it you used the abs very little and played with the brakes you would get a way better result. All in all It was a blast and I learned a lot and really do believe this is good for anyone. I know I wrote a book sorry but the reason is that I would recommend any one that has not done something like this should because you can learn so much. There were mostly 15-18 year olds but a few adults were in there as well as a 75 year old who said he realized he was getting older and thought it would be a good idea to do the class. I honestly thought the class would suck and be way more basic type of stuff but I was so wrong and am now thinking about doing some other driving classes.

MBWorld Fanatic!
You could've kicked so much *** if they'd let you use your C320 with it's ABS/BAS/ESP combination. ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
I agree, I'd like to take a course like that although I'm pretty good anyway - used to race go-karts. That all said, I don't believe these skills to be as critical as we advance more into the future where ABS is already a mainstay and ESP is about to be. No matter how good you are as a driver, you can't react as quickly as a computer and you cannot brake individual wheels.
Still sounds like fun, minus the Crown Vic part. Drew was kind enough to spin us out of control in a parking lot in his Grand Marquis last time I was visiting him in Florida and that was quite scary with all the body motions!
