Matt is correct so now as much fluid as possible has been replaced.
The fluid sample came out of the pan about 3/4 way through the drain when I went oh crap I forgot to get a sample before I started the drain my original plan was to get it out of the trans collar line before I did anything else. So there could be some pan crap in it. I figure I will send off another sample in 39K when I do another normal pan drop filter change to see how life is inside. Unless Glyn recommends a sample sooner and what does the TAN really tell us as well as flash point?
Thanks Glyn
OH and matt you are at 5K and 1 posts WTF

OK - for a half change - 4 litres the analyses is excellent. It's carrying over oxidation by-products from the fluid not drained.
Your sample timing/method could not have been better even if it was by accident.
Flash point tells you at what temperature the product produces enough vapour to produce a flash rather than sustained burning. Don't worry about it. Your oil is not contaminated with a wrong low flash substance or oil.
TAN tells you the level of oxidative acidity built up in the cocktail sample. You now have a full new change so that is redundant.
Just run the thing. If you want do a 20K halfway sample because it's easy to extrapolate against norms by sucking out of the fill tube. Be careful not to contaminate the sample with dirty pipes, pumps or containers. They should be thoroughly cleaned with filtered/clean N Hexane before sampling this way.

So My car is going to be the death of me I feel sometimes.
So I took it into the dealer for them to verify my transmission fluid as well as add a quart of engine oil (my car burns/leaks oil about 1q every 1500 miles to 2500 miles has done it since 100k suspect rear seal and dealer did last oil change so they added oil for free) I also had them check the torque on the front control arms (had a clunk from one of them being a little loose) ok well they also did a VA state inspection and failed my car for a cracked fog light that was like that for almost 3 years. So that is not such a big issue but my fog light was glued in (Long story) so I have to replace the bumper support to put the new light in. So while taking off the bumper I put a finger straight though the glass trying to keep it from falling and cut my finger really bad as well as scratch the bumper some as well. So I ordered all the parts I need to fix it as well as clear fog Light finally (see glyn I finally did what I promised to a long time ago lol) so now of course the parts are going to take awhile to get here but my dam rejected sticker runs out on the 15th. So now I have to take the bumper off again to remove the fog lights so I can try to get it reinspected without the dam fog lights and see if they pass it. Then removed the bumper again when the dam parts arrive. Oh and I have a new clunk from 1st to 2nd that I think is from my flex discs so I have them on order as well as a new idler pulley (mine is loose) as well as another new belt (my 1 year old belt is bad) Oh and to top it all off while doing my switch back to the summer times today my aligning tool got stuck in the rear hub and left the threads stuck inside the hub. So since it was ****ed I just put the bolt in and forced the aluminum to either get squished or out the other side whatever the case it torqued in and will work for now but I might have to replace it but that is for another day. Oh and my front brakes squeak like no other on colder days AHHHH my car is driving me crazy.
But last weekend I was in love with my car as usual.

See, don't you wish you had a car you didn't have to think about? I had a rental Corolla one time for 3 months after a crash in my 8 month old Civic Si back in 2008. It felt indestructible and I didn't have to think about it. I swear one day out of the blue before anyone can stop me, I'm going to get rid of my 203 for something lame like that.

They do look good I remember Glyn and I made a deal that I would replace my fogs to clears and he would replace his mirror lights to clear it just took me years later to come through and actually do it lol
BTW for you guys with older W203's the new blower motor is so much quieter and moves way more air. At half fan speed it is like the old one on full My old one was squeaking a lot and obviously is 11 years old so it was time for a new one. I found a OES behr one brand new on ebay for less than a aftermarket one the strange thing is comparing them side by side they are identical except for the original one has a very small Mercedes emblem formed in the plastic and on the new one someone sanded right where the Mercedes emblem should be. I guess they do that since the part came in a behr box not a Mercedes box so they take it and remove the logo and sell it under there own name? very strange.

I did look into the tyc one

but never could find a review of it and found my oes one cheaper so whatever.

So I have had a busy day working on my car
I cleaned my sunroof tracks and re greased it using MB Grease (expensive) The sunroof squeaked at two spots while opening and closing but only on hot days so I don't know if that is fixed but I hope it is.
I also attempted to fix the front brakes that were squeaking very bad. I got some stuff front the local parts store because I could not find the Mercedes tube I bought and decided not to spend another $35 at my local dealer for the Mercedes stuff to fix the rear brakes a few weeks ago. So I cleaned everything with some brake cleaner and the metal clips got a very good scrub then I put way to much grease stuff on and made a huge mess but on my test drive I did not hear anything but only time will tell so I won't consider it fixed for another few weeks at the minimum.
I am also sad to report that my AC compressor seams to be spraying the dye that was put in years ago all over the place and it seems to be getting more and more green everywhere every time I look so I figure that this will be the year I have to bite the bullet and replace the ac compressor and possibly while doing that do the alternator and water pump but as everyone on here has said to just wait and do it once they fail or start having play and with the belt on at least everything is still tight but the idler pulley. This week I am doing the idler pulley and replacing the belt and plan to check all the components to see if I can find any play in them. It is always something but I would not drive anything else so I guess I can't complain
Working on my car also reminds me of my Grand Father who I lost about a year ago so when my father and I work on mine it brings back the memories as well as reminds me of his comments about working on my Mercedes (they were not good comments lol) He liked simple cars not crazy complicated modern cars that everything is connected and complicated to diagnose.

It is ALWAYS something lately, you're right. But I was just thinking tonight, I have been so frustrated with mine for the past two weeks. Tonight, though, I drove it about 45 miles and got 33mpg and it really runs great.
I have to do the front suspension bushings though. Front end feels like it has loosened up quite a bit, still doesn't make any real noise. I also want to replace the single gang timing chain, probably later this year @ 150k.
John said the MB sunroof grease is very expensive but essentially just lithium grease (I believe) and you could get that most anywhere.

There is a place that will sell you 10 bucks worth of the grease>
I picked up the other stuff, otherwise known as Krytox off ebay,
it's a large container of the stuff, since you're only supposed to need it like every 60K miles.

Well hopefully my sunroof will be good for awhile
33mpg now that is awesome my cars mileage has seemed to have dropped off a little I guess I should look into that probably close to needing spark plugs again as well as replace the MAF with about 100K on it

So I got a new toy today I decided to pickup a GoPRO HD Hero 2 Motorsport edition I also bought a 32gb memory card for it so I can take some longer videos. In the end it cost me like $52 for the GOPRO and skeleton case and $39.99 for a top of the line 32gb memory card.
And no the GOPRO was not stolen or damaged it was Brand New in box straight from GOPRO.COM and yes I got a very very good deal.
Videos soon to come
