C200 CDI Elegance Sport Edition (Euro)
Wink Need help for UHI retrofit (W203 Elegance Sport Edition) - Italian

Hi everyone. 1st of all I want to tell that I have diligently searched not only this forum but several other pages thru Google before posting here. I admin that I feel really lost with trying to resolve the following: I will get my new W203 Elegance Sport Edition in a few weeks and ... I have not the UHI installed. I found it was very expensive from the MB price list. So I'd like to buy some sort of retrofit. The final goal is to use my Nokia 6230, and get it working with the COMAND APS and the steering wheel buttons. I have read a lot and some say that a retrofit exists, however, I found myself lost with all of the acronyms, codes, MOST buses, etc

I would therefore be immensely grateful if someone could finally explain to me which kit I should buy to get it work as I said above.

Thank-you so much and again sorry if posting something that some of you may consider "been there..done that.. seen the movie".

Greets from Italy

Try reading http://www.whnet.com/4x4/phones.html some good info and install links to Pual's sight. And if that doesn't help contact Steve at www.mbenznl.com he has installed these. They are pretty cut and dry. The D2B loop has to be configured, that is the fiber optics that goes from one componet to the next, it forms a loop. The install guid shows what order they have to be in. The three wires from the UHI module look like they go into the back of the command or radio for power?? The mic should just plug into the mic in your car. And the cradle mounts in the center consol and you purchase the proper cradle addapter for your phone. The only thing that would hold you up is programming the car to connect the phone to the D2B loop. The dealer can do it, but some dealers don't like to.

Hi, thank-you very much for help. I had already came across that article, and by reading that one I learnt about UHI retrofitting. However, no specific information is provided around the W203, apart something that should be called like "FES11". Unluckily, the provided link http://www.beetle.homepage.t-online....richtungen.htm does not work. Also, what you write is interesting: you cited the "D2B", while I seem to have read somewhere that the MY2006 W203 mounts the "MOST" component. Do you have any idea of what it is ?

Thank-you.

I don't know that system but I found this on Paul's sight http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/Misc...ing%20info.pdf
Sounds like a updated fiber loop.

Can anyone explain to me how this car phone works, how do i get it working what phones it works with. All I know is that i have this thing, it says NO PHONE(obviously) and i would like to use it.

If anyone could explain it to me that would be greatly appreciated...

You need to search its been covered, but most likely you do not have a phone system installed. If you do then you need the proper Mercedes phone mounted in the center consol. If you have the cradle in the center consol then it has the system instlled. If that is the case then you can get a Bluetooth module from the dealer for $325.00 that you can use on some phones. Here is the link http://www.wireless4mb.com/ . If you have no system installed and want to use a Bluetooth phone then look up Argos system on search, Europhone carries those.

You need a UHI kit installed in the car and there are several Nokia, Sony, Siemens models, and the Motorola V60i GSM that will work with the kit. You can also remove the NO PHONE with programming via Star Diagnose.

In a sense you are phone ready. You will need more hardware in place to make this happen. You can click the following link for in depth information about the system. CLICK ME FOR PHONE INFO.

bluetooth help

so I have the entertainment on my 2007 c230 and it says it is UHI prewired.
I keep reading that after 2005 they aren't prewired and they are for MHI.

Will the bluetooth puck work for me or do I need more?

thanks

Check in the audio section. There are tons of info about the bluetooth. Basically, yeah, the car is prewired but then there are other parts that you still have to buy, if i remember correctly it costs close to 2K.
