Hey Folks,

I have a '98 W202 that Steve MBenzNL modified to fibre & digital and installed a Euro COMAND (the ML model I think) and Nokia 6310i phone kit (re-wired the stock analog phone's wiring harnass for the latter).

Any thoughts about whether this Argos Bluetooth Phone Kit will work for me? Anyone here already do it in a W202? (I know I'm in a W203 forum ). a 1998?

Thanx for your thoughts.

Argos works with 99-04 C-Class. You may want to double check with Steve.

dac086, any idea what the noises are? Have you been able to fix it? I'm a day away from pulling the trigger on this deal. Also, what kind of phone do you have?

Thanks,

TB

i just installed it yesterday and I have no idea. I am using a blackberry 7100i from sprint/nextel. i had to follow the instructions from the manual and sync the phone with the argos through the hu using the buttons. are you experiencing the same issues, noise or just connecting your phone. it isnt automatic for your phone to connect with argos. you still have to sync it. just download the manual from the site.

I haven't ordered argos yet. I have a nextel i870 and am concerned with your issues. So that I'm clear, is it everytime you get in the car you have to sync the phone or just the first time? My understanding is you argos learns your phone the first time and then everytime you get in it automatically recognizes it and you can keep it in your pocket. Am I misinformed??? I'm also concerned about the noises. I wonder if the direct connect feature is interfering with argos?

Thanks.

well after you do it the first time, you set your phone to automatically sync and you dont have to do anything. I will find out about the noises because i brought my car to the dealer and they are checking it out now. ill let you know when i get it back. the direct connect feature is a little weird. i used it but you have to actually change the mode to telephone and you use the speakers in your car, but you still have to push the button on your phone for it to work. if you have any more questions let me know.

What you're describing is specific to your phone, not the Argos kit. The Argos unit will play as nice as your phone will.

But will this work in an European C-Class with Radio / CD head Audio 10? This model doesn't have number keys, see picture...

Took an extra half-hour but well worth it. Hope this helps someone.

Enjoy
TammamB, i have a cd changer and couldn't get argos to install yesterday. can you explain what you did re: comand and the cd changer. Did you have to pull the comand out of the dash? I just installed one and did see a tel in line behind there that is not plugged in. Is that what you used for your loop, and if so, what else did you plug the other ends into? thanks and please help.

actually it wasn't a wiring problem, it was the fact that i had to sync my phone with the argos system through the head unit.

The phonebook only works if the phone numbers are stored on a SIM card. If your phone doesn't use a SIM card, the phonebook feature doesn't work.
