Too late, my wife got me the Jawbone for Hannukah. Now I can use bluetooth while riding my Buell or the C230 with all the window open (ha, lets see you do that effectively with the phone kit). I just have to drill a hole in my helmet so I can push the talk button.

Ask a question on a forum because of lazyness or perceived time savings?

You are going to have to spend $765 for the phone system parts (if you have no dock in the center console) + $420 for BT module + about $300 in labor to get it hooked up, assuming you have the Entertainment Package w/cell phone pre-wiring.

I shouldn't encourage laziness....

One more thing, if you want the ipod integration kit, that will cost another $350 + install! That will allow you to plug the phone into the glovebox and charge it and then, of course, take full advantage of the iphone's music. I have it, and I highly recommend it.

I have 2 problems with in-car BT, the kits are very expensive, and you can't easily continue your call. I use a Jawbone and I leave it in my ear when I get in the car and if I get a call I just press the side and answer, works great for me. Also, Blueant makes a highly regarded BT headset with noise cancelling and they make a small BT visor clipon that you can use like a speakerphone like in-car bluetooth with the advantage that it's inexpensive and you can move it from car to car. When you own 5 cars like, you don't want to shell out $800 for each one to have BT integrated into the car.

I checked out Blueant's motorcycle setup at the recent motorcycle show and it had amazing noise cancellation, even in an over crowded show with stuff being said over the loud speaker it was crystal clear.

Jawbone kicks. Does the job well, and WAY cheaper than the $700 for a used MB BT set. Also you don't need to turn down the stereo when talking Only thing I hate was that I lost the little rubber charging cover pretty quickly; that thing falls off way too easily.

If you guys haven't heard of it, give it at try. Highly recommended [end sales pitch haha] www.jawbone.com How much do these things go for in USA?

or, if you must talk, why not turn the speaker phone on and sit the phone in your lap or cup holder? that's what i do, since i hate those damn things that go in your ear.....people walking around like they are Capt. Important.

For some of us, jabbering on the phone is our line of work. Good examples would include real estate agents and mortgage brokers. If you pulled over each time you had to talk, or waited until your destination to start calling your clients, you'd lose a few hours every day.

Personally I find talking while driving (with a headset on) is less distracting than having a passenger in the car. Hell, you can even dial your numbers by saying the name/number into the set. Only time your hands ever leave the wheel is to push the talk/hangup button on the headset. I would have been on your bandwagon a year ago, but after buying a BT and trying it myself, sorry to say, I've jumped off.

Eating/drinking while driving though, totally different story. That should be banned imo.

There's a motorola speaker Bluetooth kit available for $17 at the cheapest I've seen. They normally sell for $80+ at the cell phone dealers. Bluetooth headsets are only $20-40 nowadays online. still $60+ at stores.

I have the jawbone but I find the earpiece volume very low even with the volume set at max. What I recommend are the Plantronics products with the different charging adapters. I currently use the Plantronics 640 and I have the mini USB adaptor to charge it with my HTC phone car charger. Same adapter will work with new Motorola car chargers and a few others with the same adaptor. They also come with Nokia, Ericsson, and some with Treo adapters.

^ Yikes, you might want to get your hearing checked I find the "minimum" setting on the Jawbone is too LOUD.

Yes, word has it that Plantronics has some really decent stuff too, but I never got a chance to try it out.

Really? Maybe I got a defective one. Either way I still prefer the convenience of having just one charger in my car for my phone and headset. I only use the headset in my car.
