Do cars without rainsensors have adjustable intermittent wiper settings?
my car doesn't have rain sensing wipers. the wiper stalk only has settings 1, 2, and 3. kind of sucks that i cant adjust the first setting...

The first setting is for the sensor which wipes tooo often for my liking the second is for low speed & the third is for high speed. I too wish is had more flexibility built into the speed selection.

I have 2 friends with W203s (coupes). One has the rain sensor, the other doesn't. Both cars do not have the sunroof.
Many Jap and tons of American cars have an adjustable intermittent wiper. Why MB decided not to do this is completely beyond me. Even our 1988 Dodge Caravan had it. So did my 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88.

wow, that's ridiculous. when i was in highschool, i used to have an old POS 89 toyota that even had adjustable intermittent wipers. not being able to adjust the slowest speed (setting 1) really sucks because sometimes it is too fast/slow and switching to setting 2 is way too fast in some cases.
i think i read somewhere that at least the w203 has speed adjusted wipers, yet i notice no difference when stopped. ie slow down when stopped.

i'm beginning to suspect that my car may have had the rain sensors, but the previous owner had the windshield changed and they did not bother to put it on...

Well, from what I know, the rainsensor was standard on all 2002s (coupes definitely, I'm a little iffy on sedans). Then, when MB decontented the W203, they removed it from the standard list.
So, like lilbenz, I think that it may be there already, and they just f*cked up when they redid the windshield. You should be able to go to a dealership, have them pull up your #, and see if you have it. It'd be worth the effort, imho - overall, I like the feature.

+1 The reason your windshield doesn't have a MB logo, is because it is NOT the original windshield. It is an aftermarket PPG windshield, which PPG is the OEM, but aftermarket is sans MB logo.
Probably worth a shot to get a rain sensor, scrape off the paint, plug in the sensor and give it a whirl.

My coupe is an '02 and I have heated seats, pano-roof, leather, but NO RAINSENSING WIPERS, and I have the original windshield and the cars never been in an accident/needed the windshield to be replaced. So no chance of the sensor being left out by mistake etc.
Would be awesome to be able to add it though....

Hmmm - now that I think of it, it must have been a part of the C7 package. Did you get the C7 package? And if not, why not?

What is the C7 package? Is it the same as the Evolution package?
Im so glad my car has heated seats....makes you feel real cozy when its -25C outside!! Rain sensing wipers...dont care about as much..but would be nice to have.

If I had a driver's side leather seat, I'd agree with you on the heating. I drove my nephews somewhere in my sis' Pilot this winter, and the bun warmers were very much appreciated.
