w203 transmission won't downshift or upshift?
hi guys,
i have a w203 sport 7spd automatic. i was driving my car yesterday on local street, and for some reason, the transmission didn't want to upshift or downshift to the next gear. i had a hard time accelerating and once I got to about 40 mph, my transmission wouldn’t upshift to another gear. I tried it shift it manually to D- or D+, still no difference. I had to pull over and restart my car for everything to go back to normal. Please help!

is there anyway i can just reboot the tcu besides restarting the car?? i drove the car today and it happened again. would doing a transmission flush help?

A transmission flush isn't gonna help a situation like this - it can't hurt, however. Something weird going on with the TCU it seems. Are you past warranty? You could always call Roadside assistance when it does it and see what they have to say. I've never heard of this happening before on this forum.

did u install after market hid's?
reason why i asked is because this happened to me. i installed some sheap brand hid's back in the day and at times when it would flicker. errors pop up. and there would be times that the car would not shift. i would have to turn it of and then restart. it would be fine after that. then it would slightly flick again. and again same thing. i said **** it. so i disconnected it and drove home with my fogs..

how is your car running now?

its running great now. i have 108000 mile on my car already. still running great. i have a check engine light but nothing seems to be going wrong. i just think it muight be my o2 sensor

ic.. my check engine light came on, but it went away. do you currently have aftermarket hid on ur car?
