Rims on a 03' C240

All -
I have a quick question concerning rims. I was wondering would a 19" or 20" fit on a C240 sedan without major issues? I am looking into getting some new rims, but I just need to know what size I want. Also, what would be the recommended width of the wheel? Tire sizes for both, etc. All opinions and answers will be appreciated. Thanks guys, and gals.

20s will very likely have issues and 19s will probably have issues unless you get the widths and offsets just right. you can probably run 225s up front and 255s in the back with an offset of around +35 - +37 without problems but every rim/tire is a little bit different so there are no guarantees. also, 255s and 225s for 19s don't seem to be very common and most likely you'll end up with 235s and 265 which works ok for some people but not others... some people have issues w/ 235s up front when making extreme turns / u-turns and some people have issues with 265s in the rear rubbing the inside of fender when the suspension compresses. i think possibly, an offset of +37 with a 265 tire (seems like +35 w/ 265 rubs for most people) would prevent rubbing in the rear and a thin spacer up front will keep 235s from rubbing when turning. anyways, these aren't rules but more like general observations from previous posts so you're not really going to be 100% sure until you try it with your specific rim/tire combo.

It's all about where you live. If you're unfortunate enough to live in the few car city MECCA's, such as NY, LA, or Miami, then 19"s is the MINIMUM on any car. Hell, i've seen idiots squeeze 19's on honda civic coupe's in Los Angeles.

But trust me, if you're in the midwest or any other state similar, 18"s on a C-Class is considered PIMP.

I have 19" Brabus Monoblock VI with the H&R Cup Kit and have had no issues with rubbing, even with 5 people in the car. My biggest fear about getting 19's was wondering if they would rub or not. I got varying opinions, I even called Brabus directly and the rep I spoke to said it would definitely rub with the cup kit.

My 18's" are nice, however, there is a 3-4" gap in the wheel well. I really don't want to drop it b/c of the warranty. Looks OK, though...

3_P: dropping your car does not void warranty

19 is the only way to go unless you are above 35 or you are a woman!!!

Actually, I believe that if you drop your car and something happens suspension wise, or anything that they can associate with the drop will void the warranty on that issue. It will not void your whole warranty. Somebody correct me with I'm wrong.

Correct.

The burden of proof is also on them to prove the problem was caused by an aftermarket part.
