DIYing service A, have some questions

Hi Guys,

So, my service A is coming up in like 16dys and I am planning to DIY it.

This is what I have planned to do.

Change oil using Mityvac using 0W40 Mobil 1
Replace the air Filter using the posted DIY
Replace the Cabin Filter.
Check all fluid levels.

BTW have alreday bought all the OEM stock that I would need from europeanparts.com

Is there any thing else that I should change/replace/topoff. If I am missing any thing please let me know.

If there is a thread already that has covered this please post a link and I will close this thread. My searches did not reveal anything.

Thankx in Advance for your help.

Thank you
Javvy

You may want to consider the following:
brake fluid flush
fuel filter
trany oil
coolant
differential oil

no a b service is just an A with more inspections basically, whats above is pretty standard for a 50K service, which may happen to fall on an A or B cycle so it would be in addition to an A or B.

Javvy you're perfectly fine bro. The only thing I would add is Brake Fluid Flush if you haven't done so already and Transmission Oil and Filter change.

Fuel filter is at 65k (next service) and 91k is Sparkplugs and Coolant is 143k (no worries on that).

I say Transmission Oil and Filter change would be the most important.

13,000 miles Service A

26,000 miles Service B, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

39,000 miles Service A, Replace transmission oil and filter

52,000 miles Service B, check driveshaft flex discs, replace engine air filter, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

65,000 miles Service A, replace fuel filter, service tilt/sliding roof

78,000 miles Service B, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

91,000 miles Service A, replace spark plugs

104,000 miles Service B, check driveshaft flex discs, replace engine air filter, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

117,000 mile Service A

130,000 miles Service B, replace fuel filter, service tilt/sliding roof, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

143,000 miles Service A, replace coolant

156,000 miles Service B, replace engine air filter, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

169,000 miles Service A

182,000 miles Service B, replace spark plugs, replace brake fluid, check suspension/body structure, check body for paint damage

195,000 miles Service A, replace fuel filter, service tilt/sliding roof

Just do the standard service plus at your mileage.

- Flush brake fluid every 2 years - you could leave this till your B comes up.
- You really should do a transmission fluid & filter change if it has never been done. +1 Karo

Javvy - You need to pull the pan to change the filter & flush the cooler lines. You can't really flush the TC.

Does your 4Matic have the 722.6 5 speed or 722.9 7 speed? 5 Speed I think - Yes? The 7 speed has no dipstick tube.

Let us know & we will find the method - Also see DIY consolidated thread in stickies

You have a 2007, so you have the 7G 722.9 7 speed transmission. There is no dipstick or fill tube. It is filled via the drain plug with an adapter.

Read my post here: https://mbworld.org/forums/3668015-post34.html for info on how to service the 722.9 transmission. If all goes well and I don't get sidetracked again, I will have a DIY write-up done next week.

John - thanks for clarification. In SA there was a delay in fitting 4Matic W203's with 7G.

Doh! I am sorry, I was wrong, I somehow missed the whole 4Matic thing. Javvy, you have the 722.6 5-speed transmission and not the 722.9 7-speed. All W203 4Matics have the 722.6 5-speed. Again, I am sorry, my reading comprehension today is complete FAIL

I performed my transmission fluid change at the dealer around 35,000 miles. The transmission is something that gets overlooked all the time, make sure you do the transmission fluid!

No, you have a dipstick tube/fill tube, but no dipstick. You need to buy the special measuring tool to check the fluid level. Here is a good thread to start: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...n-related.html There are lots of threads on servicing the 722.6 transmission.
