I'm not a great lover of Conti tyres but why don't you try a set of Extreme Contact DW's. They are a big improvement on older offerings & much cheaper than PS2's - my favourite tyre.
See Tirerack Survey.

thought about it but they're running nearly 200 a peice. I'm trying not to drop 500 on 2 front tires and install if I can help it you know.

if you are going to spent T1R money, you might as well spent a little more for the Eagle F1 asym or the PS2.
but if you are going to save some $$ I highly recommend you try out the new Sumitomo HTRZ-III or the Hankook EVO V12. performance wise they are actually on-par with the T1R and just a little short of perfection from the PS2.

When I lowered my '02 C320 wagon, I thought the negative camber would help even out the wear on the fronts. But, now I just have BOTH inner and outer wear. I've bumped up the pressure to 40 psi on the fronts and that seems to help a little. Actually, there was so much wear on the outers, that I'm not too sure how much it is still wearing after the drop.
Hopefully the fronts will last another month, then I'm going to replace them with the Hankook V12s. I've got Sumitomo HTR III on the rears now and they actually seem to be wearing faster than I thought they would. The rears are wearing evenly though. Once I've got new rubber on the fronts, I will be able to monitor the wear better.
Maybe my wife is a more aggressive driver than I thought

get new tires, get the control arm bushings checked, and get an alignment.

ya thats what im gonna do. after getting the hankooks on I'm gonna ask them to check the bushings while they're under there...I know alignment is legit cuz I just had it done 2 weeks ago...I bought a 3 yr unlimited alignment plan from Tire Kingdom for only $30 more than the cost of one alignment so I'm good on that front!

Hey, how come your post are always wider than everyone else? Everytime I read one of your post I have to cursor over to the right...how annoying is that

just ordererd the tires from sears. should be hear tuesday. While they're under there I'm gonna have them take a peak at the bushings and tell me what they think. MB wanted 300 to replace them (and I think thats per side). FML

just got installed today as well as an oil change...talked to the techs there and they foudn nothing wrong with my bushings or suspension and suggested that perhaps my camber/caster is jacked up and needs an adjustment...anyone have an idea who can do this...normal alignments only fix toe angles apparently according to him. At least theirs, firestones, and tire kingdoms...can the dealer fix it with an alignment or they gonna rip my leg off beat me with it and then fix it ?

The techs are talking crap. Fit fluted bolts to both castor & camber bushes & take the vehicle to a decent alignment shop.! Grrr! Where do they find these idiots. Firestone can do it.

In South Africa every alignment shop carries Benz bolts - In fairness it is the 3rd best selling brand here after Toyota & Volkwagen.
Buy the bolts & take them along to your alignment shop & they can pop them in when setting the castor & camber. Print out the Benz explanation from the castor/camber/crash bolt thread under the DIY stickies & stick it under their nose in case they don't understand how to use them.

i got my alignment done at discount tire and it was fine. The mechanics of the car is the same as any other car. No real need to pay the premium of a dealership alignment when other places can do it cheaper.
