except the whole point of this is that I'd need more than a toe in adjustment...and places like tire rack, tires plus, firestone, etc only do the toe in adjustment.

ok ya wasnt sure cuz when i put them both into the catalog they came up with something that could be it...so thanks for clarifying! so when i take these and my car to a shop, what exactly do they need to do to fix my wear problem? is it induce a negative camber? or just align my car back to specs?

First they need to measure what it is now & see if it is way out. If it's out then correct it - If it is not out then introduce some negative camber to offset your problem.

having alignment done tomorrow for $75. I *****ed enough that it got back to the manager and he called me today with an offer to do my alignment for a $75 special? lol I accepted because something is better than nothing. I woulda expected at least doing it for free, but this is MB we're talking about.

i was reading the report from my last visit to the dealership before i replaced tires.. and they said i had negative camber in the front as a result of my lowering on coilovers... are these bolts something that could fix my problem? for a cl203? (my instinct says yes, but i want confirmation before i order) - thanks in advance!

They will certainly improve your problem. Depends how much negative camber you are trying to dial out.

Blast from the past...

Did the fluted bolts help in reducing the front outer tire wear? You also mentioned a camber kit...what camber kit are you refering to? Was this camber kit for the rear?

I've lowered my S203 wagon about 1.7 in front and 1.0 in the rear with a H&R Cup Kit. The rears are wearing on the inside due to the negative camber induced with lowering it, but the fronts are still wearing on the outer edges...thought lowering it would even it out, but no.

if the tires are already wearing out on the outside they will continue to wear out on the outside even when you lower the car. once they started wearing unless they are near new tires they will continue to wear down the same pattern. the minimal change in camber up front will not alter the tire wear that dramatically.

if you put new tires on it you should see improvement.

Thanks Frank. Midnight Koop had mentioned a camber kit...is there one for the front?

I think the only way to correct the rears are adjustable upper camber arms, right? Do you know of a good source for these?

the bolts will help the front, i still see a bit of more wear on the edges due to the way our tires behave when turning etc, but it is much better than before and the wear is barely noticeable...

New Alignment Bolt after 18K miles?

[QUOTE=Glyn M Ruck;4183766]Mav - You have the 3 way bushes but Benz fit standard bolts - You need to buy the bolts to have the extra adjustability. I too have 32 offsets - you should be good to run 235 tyres up front. 50 psi is hellish high. I was talking more in high 30's

I went in for Service B with 18K miles on my C300. Service adviser talked me into a 4wheel alignment, but after few hours he called me and said the alignment was so off, that I need a new alignment bolt (this time with grooves) to meet the specs. W T F . . my car never hit a pothole nor go offroad. Stinking bolt is not covered by warranty. Anyone has the same problem. My bill from them afterward is another issue.

youre in the wrong section my friend you want to hit up the w204 forum... I recommend taking it to another alignment shop. Dealers are always trying to get extra money. Did you ask them for the before and after spec sheet of your alignment.
