Maintenance and replacement parts advice.

I just clocked 90,000 miles in my 2005 c230 kompressor ss and I need to clarify some info. First off, I have to replace my engine mounts due to some vibration and low RPM range during idle. My service tech told me that these need to be replaced when I had the chance. I called the dealer and they quoted me at $147.20 each and $60.20 for the transmission mount. I found OEM engine mounts for $84.94 over at parts geek and transmission mounts for as low as $18.95 at auto parts warehouse. So far so good on prices but I wanted to get your opinion on these.

Second is my brakes situation. I called Evo Sport today so I could clarify some details on rotors, lines and pads. I don't want to upgrade to a big brake kit but I do want to replace the parts I mentioned with aftermarket ones. They suggested I email them my VIN, year and model so they can send me some info but I wanted to see if any of you have experience with Brembo rotors, Porterfield pads and Rotora lines. Are these direct bolt on and correct replacements for OEM equipment or do I need any special modifications? I'd rather spend a little more than OEM rotors and pads so I can prolong the life of the equipment. I've added some screenshots below because their menu is a little confusing on which models to order. Thank you all in advance.

I would just fit OE brake parts from someone like RMeuropean. They are frequently cheaper than aftermarket. Stock pads are great if you can live with the dust & give long rotor life & excellent feel. The stock brakes on your SS are Brembo

Porterfield pads are great but usually cost more than OE. If you want ceramic pads then Akebono seem the best cost/performance compromise.

Buy OE mounts from RM or whoever is cheapest

I kept reading that on here but I couldn't understand how. Oh well. I don't mind buying them again from Evo Sport.

There is a DIY Akebono install thread that I was reading but I thought that Porterfields were top notch? What are the differences between Porterfields and Akebono pads?

I'm glad you said this because I'd rather have control of my pricing than being taken advantage of from the dealership. So, they're basically the same equipment right?

Brembo supply the stock brakes for the SS to Benz & put "Mercedes Benz" on them.

Porterfields are great - just expensive - your choice

Yep - People like RM stock the genuine stuff & sometimes give you a cheaper option. Only use OE mounts. To hell with the stealer.

THE C350
Looks like you can get the transmission mount cheaper at parts geek. if it is the same as the one for the c320. Good luck with this i am curious if you really have to take the exhaust off or not.

I'm about to order the parts right now. Engine mounts from RMeuropean $76.74 for the Left/Front and $73.48 for the Right/Front and free shipping!. Then the transmission mount from Parts Geek for $24.98 + $7.50 shipping/$32.48. I'll keep you guys posted.

I also have just over 90,000 on my 2005 C230. No mount issues, though.

Your car has had 149k since I came to this board in July of 2008 so I'd venture a guess you wouldn't know either way since apparently you don't drive it.
