Just emailed vendor about the AUX and SAT connection. Also mentioned the cd changer issue for Popo. Will post when I hear back.

By the way....Hello everyone I'm new to the forum, and Mercedes. Just bought a new (to me) 2007 c280 4matic a week ago. I am up here in PA... the poconos. Driving is fun again

Heard back from CarAudioCraze already...less than 15 minutes! I am not sure about the answer though because I think Trent thought I was asking if the unit had SAT capability I actually wanted to know if the SAT electronics in the car could source the AUX input and since it is already controlled by the steering wheel controls it may work?? I assume the steering controls can select the audio sources and display them in on the dash info center. Bad news for the CD changer though, I will try calling tomorrow or Monday. Regardless the full response is as follows:

Thanks for contacting me today.
The Dynavin unit is not compatible with Satellite radio sadly. I have inquired numerous times but the engineers aren’t familiar with the technology as China doesn’t have SAT Radio. The only way I think you would do it is if you had a separate module for the SAT radio and connected it with RCA’s to the unit. This would mean you couldn’t control it though the unit though.

As for the CD changer, it does not support that.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Trent

The CD changer wouldnt work because it's on the MOST fiber optic network, just like the HK amplifier is. Also, I think Steve NL or someone on this forum did put an NTG 2.5 comand in a euro version of the c-coupe.

they don't do group buys, but if you guys have a wholesale license like myself you can contact the owner and see what he can do for you. We buy from a company called Motevo. they're based out of LA and they're a large company. these are all made in the same factory in china anyways.

AVIC X920bt

Hey everyone Im looking to put an AVIC x920BT into my 2007 C280 4matic. A local guy said he could get the job done with these parts:

AVIC X920bt
Scosche MZ2347B / MZ2347
Scosche VW03B / VW03
Metra 40-EU10
Axxess ASWC

I printed out some how to articles from this site and he said it looks doable. Is there anything model specific that I should know about? We were a little sketchy with the steering wheel kit but we figured wed give it a shot.

Thanks in advance,
WM

Thanks for quick reply

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I actually bought the parts myself and got the unit for $642. Haha right after I bought it the price went up to $739! So I think I got a pretty good price. As for the install, I am still waiting for a quote but this guy is pretty fair. It's just a local auto shop who does all kinds of autowork. I expect it to be around $200.

Also, are there any things I should know about the install? Like will the VW wire harness fit right into the Mercedes wires? Idk anything about electronics or wiring, and I figure I my does well know how difficult it is before he charges $400 or something like that. I saw in some forum some guy had to take the power wire from the cigarette lighter or something? Sorry if I sound stupid but I am foreign when it comes to this stuff.

Thought I'd let you know, I am new to the forum, live in PA, and bought a C280 4matic in April of 2010. It's good to see another PA guy with the same car. I just can't wait to see if it handles well in the winter or not. I will look into the PAC steering wheel adapter.

the PAC modules do not work on the 2005+ w203's. well at least nobody here has got them to work. the Axxess module works and its less then half the price of the PAC modules

yes the vw harness works, but they need to trigger the factory amp to turn on with your aftermarket head unit. hence: if they know what they are doing, they do not need to re-wire your vehicle. just run a remote wire from the factory amps to the new stereo. my uncle lives in pocono places actually, he's VP of the home owners association there and knows more about this stuff than any of us

we did an 07' c230 a month ago and used the pac module. they are difficult to install, not exactly a quick plug and play.

So the Axxess works and is easy to install? Because that would be great. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. I'll just tell him to hook up the amp to the Pioneer. Thanks for all your help guys. And thanks to that guy who posted the DIY on opening up the W203 console. I would have been lost trying to get that stereo out. I just wish there was a simpler way to access just the rear of the stereo.

Thanks again,
WM

Looks like I will be waiting til after Thanksgiving to get the system put in. So I'll post some pictures once I get it done. But I had another question.

I noticed in some other posts that people are buying whole different housings for their lights to upgrade to bi-xenons. I always thought you could just buy different bulbs and replace the old lights...atleast that's what we did on our 2004 BMW X3....I was thinking about putting bi-xenons in my C280 but are there certain bulbs you have to get? I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me.

Thanks again,
WM

i'm not entire sure on your car, but i know that on mine (c55) i can just change the bulb to a 6000k d2s bulb which i'm doing next month. as far as changing yours if they are not, i really couldn't tell you. there's a thread on it though i'm sure.

Yes the access module works. There are a few things i dont like with it, but for the most part it gives you the steering controls back. Make sure you have the updated module. JreC230 installed mine, he had to update the module before we got it to work. Once it was updated, he installed it pretty quickly, not sure if it was plug and play or if he had to do anything else...

Once again, thanks for your help. I hope it comes with instructions to program them, which i'm sure it does. I also want to get some aluminum pedals They look pretty sick. Here's a link to where I found them.

I'll be sure to get some pics up of the gps unit. I'm going to keep looking for bi-xenon threads for my car.

Thanks again,

The stock AMG pedals (at least, the gas pedal) aluminum with rubber dots is a slip on cover. Not sure if it'll fit directly onto non-AMG pedals, but it's worth looking into.

Are these the pedals you are talking about?

Hey I was wondering if you could tell me where you bought those, they look really cool.

Also, I have no idea if anyone else has had experience with the AVIC X920BT or not but I was thinking about buying a HTC Incredible with Verizon and putting Pandora on it. Now the description for the AVIC says you can use an Iphone and use Pandora through the Iphone through USB. Does anyone know if this could be done with the Incredible as well? Thanks for any input...
