I'm curious what the general consensus is on what the approximate mileage lifespan of a C320 4Matic would be.
I'm only at 73K miles now and was thinking about giving my car to my mother next year to replace her 1999 Buick Park Ave - but I don't want to do it if the car really only has 190k miles of life.

190 - 73 = 117. Why is that not worth it?
If she babies it, it should easily get to 200. And if she doesn't, it was free for whatever timeframe she used it. It's a win-win, especially as an upgrade from a Park Avenue, unless she likes the size of that thing.

I'm used to project car hell. Before the Saab, I had a '75 Porsche 914 and an '85 Jaguar XJ6 that I bought, worked on, sunk a lot of cash into, etc with very little payout. I just wouldn't want to turn a car over to my mom that would turn into a money pit.Originally Posted by tommy

She likes the 'Park because it "holds the road", which the 4Matic does very well, despite being a smaller car.Originally Posted by tommy

But like I said, I just wouldn't want to turn something over to her that would be a money pit.
well my 01 c320 has 152k on it and really besides maintenance has been very cheap to own. I have not had any issues since my warranty ran out at 100k i am replacing the worn shocks but i consider that maintenance so that is really it.

She thinks a Park Avenue holds the road?!

190k miles of life isn't good? I would not keep a car for so long ever. I wont even make 2years with my C280.

Our 200k mile Camry was one of the most special cars ever. Maybe it's just me but once a car has a lot of years and miles with me it seems a lot more special than it started out as.

+1 every one looks at my car and goes wow nice car or look at the spoiled brat lol. And i chuckle to myself that it has 152k on it and people still go wow. Originally Posted by LILBENZ230

with proper maintenance and care, these cars should last a VERY long time.Quote:

She is a "mom". She calls me when "the internet goes down". Her line of thinking is that the heavier the car is, the more it "holds the road" - transmission, tires, and other suspension components never play into the equation.Quote:
