***Z4 3.0 vs. C320 Sport***
K so I pull up at the light with my friend in the car up next to this tuff business guy in a Z4 3.0 Manual. He agreed to race on the green. So i brake-torqued (how ever you say it) to get a good launch. And damn i nailed the launch so perfect i got a car a head of him on the launch alone it was insane. Then he chirped in 2nd and started to climb on me and we quit at like 75 cause the next light was coming close. But damn I was shocked I took that car, all i have is Potenza 730's. I don't think those can make THAT much of a difference over stock in a race. what do you think?

Perhaps the Z4 was automatic and/or the car was so new that the driver wasn't acclimated to it....
A Z4 can eat C320's all day and night. The fact is....the Z4 is a pure-bred sports car (even though it looks like Tucan Sam on crack), as opposed to Mercedes' lean toward luxury with performance (not that this is a BAD thing).
Sure, you can mod a Benz for the track...but from the factory it's not designed as a race car.
The upside to all this.....an "out of the box" BMW may be faster....but YOU still drive a Mercedes-Benz

how often are you gonna "race" your car anyway? I'll take luxury performance over pure performance anyday to conserve my butt's sexyness and to avoid backache.

I know it wasn't an automatic, his shifts were way to quick to be an auto. BMW automatics are good but it's not an SMG. Maybe the guy just wasn't that great of a driver.
And for nevide.. your sexy butt?? cmon bro seriously your done.

The Z4 3.0 is a lot faster than the C320, definitely a case of a crappy driver. Avg 1/4 mile time is about 14.2 s from the magazines, & avg 0-60 time of about 5.6 s. The C320 auto avg 1/4 mile time is about 15.2 s, a full second slower (which is considered huge).
It's a light sports car, & has a manual vs. your "heavy" luxury sedan w/ auto.
The new Z4 is much more comfortable than the old Z3, it's very similar to the SLK now.

Maybe I just caught the light before he did, or he's a retard and can't even drive his own car.
Remember when the reviews came out on that car, it looked horrible in the magazines. It looks sooo much better in person, phew! haha
But ya i'm still holding to the fact that my car beat a Z4, thats something to be proud of, plus I had one passenger with me.

It looks pretty crap with the top up, but I must admit it looks amazing when the top is down.

Of course, could have been a rebadged 2.5L, not that anyone ever does that
