Unhappy Bay Area service dept loaner car questions

Much to my utter and complete shock, it seems the SF Benz does not give out loaner cars unless your car is in service is for multiple days. (even my horrible VW dealer gave me loaner cars!) I use my car every day. Does not make me happy after I spend $27 grand on a car and I drove it out of the dealership with problems.

Guess my solution is to go to another dealership, but my question is what service departments in the Bay Area have cusomter focused loaner car policy?

TIA

Beth

Pleasanton MBZ, talk to Lance Nunez.

Hi Beth,

I brought my car in a few times, and each time, I got a new E320 as a loaner!!!! I consider it a treat to bring my car in for service.

Talk to Lance Nunez. He's awesome.

Good luck.

You're correct - I had to take my car in three (yes, 3!) times in two weeks time because of a repair not being diagnosed properly.

On trip #3, the following morning after attemp #2 didn't work, the dealer had the car for 9 days and gave me a Chrysler Sebring Convertible (it was awful). Yes, I could get around, but the car (which was a 2001 model) was not in good shape.

One thing, though, they certainly got generous with their shuttle service - even picked me up from work.

I went to Autobahn in Belmont couple times in the past year. I got loaner car every time. Loaner car was provided by Enterprise Rent a Car in the same location. Loaner cars were vary from Mercedes E320 to Mini Van. I don't mind the maker of the loaner car, as long as I get a "free" loaner car and get to work. Even though I work in SF, I will not visit the service dept in SF Benz, I know their service dept is not as good as the others in the Bay Area.

Did you buy your car at Autobahn? I put in my order for my c230 there, should be here end of March. How have your experiences with them gone? This will be my first MB (my first new car actually) so I have no experience with them. Thanks!

My guess is Autobahn does give you loaners. There is nothing near them except 101 and Orcale. How else would you get anywhere?

They were not helpful at all during my car buying expereince, but perhaps their service is better.

I bought my 2001 C320 at Autobahn in Belmont back in Oct 2000 at full MSRP.
Other than SF Benz and Autobahn service dept. ,you can try Oakland MB,RAB in San Rafael, or even further in San Jose or Fremont.

Oakland is owned by the same poeple as SF MB. The sales woman told me they do not provide loaners and Oakland is owned by them and the same deal applied.

I would also be interested to know which local service centres provide loaners. If you find one more locally than Belmont please let me know.

Thanks

Nathan

fletcher jones fremont ca loaner policies

took my car to dealer for B service. thet gave me a loaner and i initialed and signed a waiver where it states:

no out of state drives
return gas tank to fill state
charge for extra day when car in service is done
must be 21yrs old
insurance policies
not to exceed 100mi/day while car in service or will be charged

i never got a copy of this form and the agreement i have doesnt state any of this. my question is how much do i pay per mi if i go over the 100/day?
