Midnight blue vs Diamond Black Metallic
Does anybody have a 2005 C230K with paint code 768? According to Dr. Colorchip, that color is called "Diamond Black Metallic", but my car is definitely NOT black. It is a deep blue metallic (it looks black if there isn't a decent light on it but in the light, there is no mistaking that it is blue. I THOUGHT it was "Midnight Blue"). I was going to say I want to order the right color, but I think I really want to feel confident that I'm ordering the right color.

Maybe Johnand will let us know his paint code. We could have the same color.

See johnand's crash pictures - you can clearly see it is a very dark blue.

My uncle had a Midnight Blue 2004 and wished he would have waited one year for the Diamond Black.

I have to admit that my car color is growing on me. I would have preferred white (my standard first choice) and dark colors are my least favorite - not because they don't look good, but because they are even harder to keep looking good than white. My car was listed as black and I was not that excited about having a black car, but at least it had the gray interior. Thankfully it was not black (or so I thought) and I got it. It is a really pretty color. Now I'm surprised to know I really do have a black car after all and I'm liking it!

The grey interior is magic - looks great. Far better than black & cooler. Has class.
Don't wear dirty **** when using the car & no eating, drinking, smoking, farting etc. allowed.

Smoking is off limits for sure. But drinking and the occasional eating does happen. Also, my car has 3x the usage of your car and carries 3-4 passengers on a regular basis. It is a constant battle to keep the interior looking nice.. and it shows some age now, though not bad. The black would've just been better for me. If I mostly drove alone or with one passenger or lightly used the car then yeah, the gray would be just fine.

"annoyance" and "self-righteousness", amoung others...
my old 230 had the grey and I couldnt wait to ditch it for the black interior in the 350! wife also has the black. a little swap over to birdseye maple and ill be smitten!
the grey especially looked awkward with the aluminum trim.
