BF Goodrich is too general of a term. All their tires peform drastically differently. You should read up on tirerack to see the reviews. I used BF Goodrich Traction TA's on my old Toyota Rav4 and they worked great. Nice rugged look (not for sedans) and lasted a good amount of time. I think I was running at 30k miles and they were still in good shape.

My car's currently wrapped in Kumho Ecta ASX's. Comparable to Michelline Pilot Sport but much cheaper and supposedly they last longer.

i have g force 245 low profile 18s front and rear ... good grip alot of noise lasts about 15k miles... rear tires that is.

I had them on my BMW

Just put a set of 255/40-17's on my 07 C230. No rubbing, no problems with ESP, and in fact my odometer and speedometer are more accurate (using GPS to test) then with the factory tires.

I like the look better. It fills up the wheelwell more and the tire doesn't look stretched on like the 245/40-17's did.

agree. 255/40/17 is probably the size to go.

If they're OEM tires from the 2004.5-2007 model, I highly suggest the tire size calculator. You'll want to make sure that the rolling diameter matches accurately or you will throw off your speedometer.

My 2 cents worth on tires ( I live in southern California, so it's all summer tires ):

The stock Michelins were great: nice ride, quiet, great handling, 22K miles, but expensive.

Next I went cheap with Kumhos ( sorry, I forget exact model ). Decent handling, inexpensive, but noisy and short life (14K miles). No rim protection: I dinged both passenger side rims on curbs while using them. Whatever money I saved on tires, I'll lose in replacing rims.

I'm now on the second set of Goodyear GS-D3s: not quite as soft as the Michelins, great handling ( even in rain ), 20K miles, quiet, modest price, rim protector ridge.

is anyone running 235 35 on a 9.5" x 19 rim? If so how is it?

But they're pretty close to worn out at 8K miles.

I am new to this so bear with me.
I bought 18 inch rims, 8 inches wide all around. Now for the tires....

So I am thinking about getting 225/40/18 fronts and maybe 245/35/18 rears.

Is there any advantage of having a wider tire on the rear wheels if all 4 wheels are same width? ( looks?, performance?)

Also, the offset on the new wheels (18x8) is et 30. Do I need spacers or will it fit? I was told by someone with same size rims on same car that they fit fine but you never know.

And last question... How will i know the proper PSI i should have in the new tires when they are put on. Again this is my first time dealing with buying new rims/tires.

if i were you, i would just call the tire/wheel company and ask them if the offsets will need spacers or not for your vehicle. if they know what theyre selling they should know what it fits.

and just put in between max psi of tire and what your door says until you find a comfortable ride! dont get too worked up about exact amounts of pressure

welcome aboard..... the offset depends on the style of the wheel you may or may not need them... but like hwd said call up the company they should know what fits.. good luck

Well of course I wanted a staggered setup.. but I found these rims cheap and the style I wanted.
I am a Broke-@$$ college student. So I just bought what I could find quickly before I used the extra money from Christmas on drugs and hookers.

Anyway, just asking one more time... Is there any reason to go wider tire on back? Any benefits or anything, or is it just a waste if all 4 rims are same width?

well I'm tinted out, and my new wheels are black with polished lip. If i ever get to it, id like to black out grill and smoke my headlight and tail lights, later on..

its up to you. IMHO - clear sides are only 20 bucks, so buy a set for that and install them, if you dont like them, paint them

how in the hell did you burn them out THAT fast? John, who has an E55 has the same tires and he's gotten over 20k miles on his already and he has an E55 (on 18's) and has tracked them!

you doing burnouts and brake stands like crazy? I got almost double than that on my OE Conti's (19's) on the M3 and I have pictures of burnouts and launches on those tires (and they weren't that worn when I changed em out).

your alignment bad or something? daaaaamn, I thought the RE050A's were supposed to be good, but if you're eating through them in 8k miles...

OK I have some 19" Brabus V staggered wheels I'll be putting on my 2001 C320. I've read a ton on wheels and tire sizes and here is what I've narrowed it down to.

Should I go with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 OR 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 tires? Or even 235 and 255's?

I want to make sure there is no rubbing. It will be on stock suspension BUT may be lowered eventually (I know..).

What will fit best AND not rub?

you do risk bending the lip with 255/30/19, so take that as a warning.

You risk bending the lip by driving through potholes no matter what size tires you've got! I was just advising based on his desire to have no rubbing.

Whoa, what do you mean? Do you mean 265s would protect the lip better or what exactly? How would they bend the lip? Please clarify.
